lovely material but too tight in hips/thighs

I ordered a size larger than my usual pants size since that's the way outdoor gear tends to run, and the size guide indicated this would work. But I couldn't even get these on over my hips. So if you carry your weight in hips/thighs like I do, these are not for you.

I bought a second pair of these (as pricy as they are) because I loved so much about my first pair; the pockets are all functional sizes, they fit in both my thighs and waist, they were loose enough to layer without being baggy....then they both wore through inside the thighs in just over a year. When contacted Kuhl and asked if they had done anything to address how quickly the fabric wears out, I was told that it was normal for pants to wear out when being used for hiking. When an item is marketed as technical hiking gear with an $85 price point, it should withstand hiking for YEARS. While the style and cut is perfect, the quality of the material used is not.

I have these pants and the shorts. They run very small. I had to order a 14. I usually wear a size 10 in pants, sometimes an 8 or 12 depending on the brand, but never a 14. Even so they are snug.

Pulls in crotch, & more brown than red

I was pretty excited about these pants, but they fit poorly enough that I don't think a different size will help. Maybe they're made for pear shaped women? I'm slim, but have never had an hourglass shape. These pull in the crotch, which argues for getting a larger size - but the butt and legs are baggy. I'm gonna hafta return them. Not sure what the problem is about the color. This is a pic of the "Picante" pants beside a colorful scarf, so you can see it's not my camera. They're really just brown. I've found it extremely helpful when other reviewers have added their height & weight and the size they ordered, so: In 5'4", 108-110 lbs, and I ordered a size 6 x 32 inseam. The inseam seems right. I usually wear a 4, but followed the reviews' advice to size up. I think they're right - but there must also be a body shape issue here.

I bought these for a repel trip down Pine creek canyon in Zion. I normally wear a size 8 but with Kuhl pants I order up a size to a 10, I'm 5'7, 143lbs. The pockets held my cell phone as I was repelling and the pants were not constricting at all. This canyon has a lot of sand stone and there was climbing up, over, around and sliding on my bum at places. The only thing that didn't hold up as well as I'd like were the pockets. There are now small holes on the outside of the leg pockets (weird since I don't remember doing any superman moves). I love this color, and would buy another pair!

I ordered an 8 which is my normal size and it wasn’t even close. I’m not even sure a 10 would fit.

I had these exact pants in a size 8, but ahem, they were getting a bit tight, so I ordered a size up. I like them for hiking and still wanted to wear them but needed a more comfortable fit. I was pretty disappointed to discover that the 10 has the exact same dimensions as my old 8 did both on my body and when I held them against each other. Back they go! I am happy with these pants except that the fit is not consistent in sizing.

I fell in love with these pants! Sometimes the fit is different for each style. I had to make some returns for sizes, but got my juju on! Returns were each, and rapid! I have two black labs that give it the treatment, but so far, just mud and kisses are found on the pant:)

These hiking pants run true to size and are very comfortable. These pants are well made and I like the snap closure at the waist. I am 5'3" tall so the pants are a little long on me but I like that.

Love these pants, I have them in two different colors. The fit is great with a little stretch, I did however try them on in store and went up a size from my usual. They are my everyday uniform!
