Buckeye Runner

Have been running in nothing but ASICS for decades. Trained 2 weeks with these Kayano's before a 10K race. Excellent fit, cushion and feel. Ran a great time. Keep up the good work. GO BUCKS!

The best just got better!

The Kayano is a tried and true model. Still the latest edition, 26, manages to impress with improvements. First of all the shape of the shoe is now all about running. Where the previous one felt a bit chunky (at least I thought so) the Kayano 26 design is sleek and smooth. It's also 10 g lighter than it's predecessor. As I'm an overpronator the shoe's excellent arc support and overpronation control helps me run care free for miles and miles. It's jam packed with technology that I really feel provides bounce back, stability, comfort and breathability. A perfect training shoe! I've got the mako blue/sour yuzo colors and love how stylish they look.

Surprisingly good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a larger bloke, I need support to counter pronation, and a footbed/sole combo that is firm without being harsh - I've tried many brands over the years but keep coming back to ASICS and these are a good fit for what I want. They don't feel heavy, but robust enough that I don't feel like I'll break them The sizing is a little generous, but then I've slightly atypical feet anyway so its no problem beyond getting a half insole added (I've been a 12 in ASICS for at least the last 15 years in a number of different styles, these are the first ones to come up a half size large.) Despite the pandemic, despatch and delivery were quicker than expected.

Flat Feet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have flat feet and was looking for a way of increasing my road miles, I can say they were immediately comfortable, I am feeling some pain in areas I’m not used to which I can only put down to a change how my feet impact with stability controlled soles. (Only for the first couple of miles). Time will tell how they last as one problem with flat feet is they destroy most of my trainers long before they wear out! I have given five stars at the moment as everything has been great so far. I have also noticed a reduction in my post run tendinitis in my knee, which I can only guess is an improvement of my knee tracking thanks to better foot strikes.

Great Shoe but some issues

I bought this shoes at the end of March, so I have been wearing them for about 2 months. It took a few weeks for me to break them in, and I had some foot discomfort while doing so. That was expected though, which I’m fine with. I do have issues with the tongues. They slide to the sides whenever I walk or run, which isn’t necessarily uncomfortable but feels weird on my foot. Additionally, both of the inner collars (photo) have badly worn in only two months. I know this has to do with how I walk/run and hitting my heels, but I’m still really disappointed in that. I didn’t expect $160 shoes to ware that quickly. Despite this, I would recommend these shoes.

Superb shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a previous version of these babies and loved them, then flipped over to Brooks Adrenaline GTS19s due to affordability. I really didn’t like how slow they were. Now back in Gel Kayano 26’s and I can only say that was was the perfect shoe has only got better! Took them for the first trial last night for a 7k run... they are superb! Not too cushioned and the perfect blend of support and return in them. I love them. If the was any negative I would say that it appears they are sized slightly larger than my previous version, but it’s only a tiny bit so I can’t really complain. Just amazing shoes and worth the money without a doubt.

Lightweight with Stability uncompromised

It is not often we find a pair of shoes that simply put a premium on stability. Finding that on a light weight running shoe is even harder. The gel kayano and the gel nimbus are two excellent shoes that feel quite different. The nimbus feels a little lighter and a little more cushion and the kayano feels it puts stability ahead of everything else. Given a lot of my running is on some what uneven roads, the added stability is truly appreciated to avoid any uneven rolls and side twists. While I did run a half marathon in the kayano, I find them even more suited to training and have already become my *primary* pair of shoes.

A long distance classic upgraded

I ran my first marathon in ASICS GT 2000 and found it tough as my legs got tired. Next time I went to the ASICS store the assistant recommended that I try Keyano and I did. My first pair were the Keyano 24 and they provided me with the stability and cushioning I needed for a marathon. I liked them Keyano so much I purchased 25. Fast forward to 2019 and I have been running in the Keyano 26. The Keyano 26 has a more comfortable fit than its predecessor. I notice the increased cushioning and stability on my longer runs. I am glad that the outsole has been toughened to prevent wear as that usually goes when my form goes. All in all a very great distance trainer.

Great for over pronators

I'm an overpronator. I've had orthotics since I was 10 yo. A few years back I was running daily, training for a half marathon. After the race, both achilles were killing me and eventually i had to get physical therapy and see a podiatrist. He recommended the Kayano's and I've been using them for the last three years. They definitely helped fix the issue with their added support. I need to replace them about every 4-6 months based on my mileage. For my situation, they're great. The toe box is a little wide for my liking, but I have a narrow foot. I always take out the insole bed and replace it with my own foam orthotics.

Quality, stable running shoe

The only running shoe i’ve found that adequately supports my feet in long distance running. I don’t get blisters with shoes like I did with other models and other brands. I do about 10–15 miles of running per week, combination of road and trail. This shoe is lightweight but still rugged and stable enough to use on wooded trails. I put 400+ miles on the first pair which is probably too much but I didn’t “feel” like I needed to replace the shoe. I havent had any blowouts or odor problems with these shoes, they hold up very well. I’m on my 2nd pair of the Kayano and bought a 3rd to have as a back up pair when needed.
