Beautiful bibs, but I returned them.
Loved everything about the bibs but for two problems. These fit perfectly, almost, and looked very good and I wanted to keep them badly. But the diameter in the area of those velcro adjusters, half way between belly button and nipple, they are very snug. If only another 1/2" more room or a more stretchy material to be way more comfy. I was thinking I would live with that, I wanted to love them. Then i realized the fly only opens at 4.25" Not going to go into details but that is just not enough length in the fly for it to be easy to use.
Best All Around Pants I've Ever Worn!
These are the best bib pants I've ever worn. I used to work for Whistler/Blackcomb as a snowmaker and our departement was North Face Gore Tex Gear. It stood up under the water, but the chest pockets sucked. I usually would cruise the Outlet stores from companies like Patagonia or Arcteryx and end up with XL or even XXL gear. I like my gear baggy (for movement and style) and I'm super happy with the Large in this pant. I rode it all last year from slushy park laps to -20 splitboarding days and this pant litterally does it all. The pockets are perfect, full side zip to the armpit on right side and the reinforced knees and heels were perfect for sledding. No hesitations, best pant I've ever rode!
Weird sizing, good product.
5’11, 195 lbs and usually a Large in most everything except for cycling jerseys, which I’m an XL. The chest was very tight and barely zipped up in the Large that I got. Legs were very baggy which I get for style, and were maybe a little long on me (I’m a shorter inseam for my height, my torso is an extra 2 inches). Reordering direct through the Flylow website in an XL Short since REI doesn’t carry the short length. Other than that, seems to be a fantastic product as usual from flylow. Was going to pair this with the Flylow Quantum Pro which I’ve already used for 2 seasons and love (in a M, mind you, which still fits even with two layers underneath, even though this size L bib does not).
Love them!!! Do not restrict movement.
I bought these bibs last season, so I've put in about a season and a half. I ride on the east coast both in the resort/park and backcountry. I ride in a lot of trees/brush and these bibs have not been punctured or torn at all, very durable. The gators are still intact, which is very important to me. I wear my bibs with the straps a little looser to give them a little more length. They still keep their shape when I wear them like that. I love the chest pockets because they make it easy to grab any object you may have stored in them. The venting zippers are easy to unzip up and down. I recently wore them up Mt. Washington on a very warm day with the zippers down and it wasn't terrible. They wash really well using the Nikwax Tech Wash. Most of the stains came out and the bibs took to the waterproofing solution well . I also love the reinforced knees, very durable and it keeps your knees warm. They do not restrict your movement at all, so you can still tweak it out of park jumps or cliffs. Overall I love these bibs and would recommend them to anyone.
Tears easily
Was initially happy with product but developed a tear on day 3 skiing fairly easy terrain. At this price point should be far more durable
Weird sizing if you need to layer
I’m an average joe in almost all ways - height (5’10), weight (165), and income (well, you get the point). I almost universally wear a medium, whether it be in pants or jackets. But the Medium in the Baker Bib just feels TINY for my average dimensions. It’s short. The thighs are tight and constricting. It’s almost impossible to sit down — not that that is an intended use. And that’s all without any significant layering. If you’re in relatively warm conditions, that might be okay, but there is zero chance I’d be able to layer up for this super cold days in the northern Rockies. My advice? If you’re on the cusp of sizes on the (rather weird) sizing chart. Size UP! Also take a careful look at the sizing chart. It seems to mix-and-match different sizes on the top and bottom of the bib. You might need to size for one or the other depending on your needs. The Bibs themselves seem great — useful pockets, inner and outer thigh zippers, etc. Just weird sizing.
Love them except for two things:
Zipper is very small - even when it's cold outside... I find myself unzipping and unbuckling one side and just opening up the whole front in order to relieve myself. The other issue is the waterproofing - the knees wet out which is probably just the outer layer, but the butt would also get wet quickly between strapping in and riding on the pow covered lift chairs. Fit is great and they have held up excellent through 25 days this season. I am buying another pair as mine were stolen, so I guess that says something. But both purchases were around the $260 mark with sales.
Looks and fits great, but not durable at all
I initially purchased these because they were one of the few bibs that fit me (large thighs). My first impression was that they were super comfortable and looked great. I used them to tour once, and really appreciated the leg vents and pockets. The second time I wore them was at the resort, and they ripped about 2 inches above the cuff guard. I know that this is a very common place to damage pants while skiing, but it was very disappointing that I spent >$400 for pants that ripped after using them for 2 days. REI was of course great and I was able to exchange them for another pair, but the same thing happened only this time they ripped over the reinforced cuff guard, which I feel should not happen. While I was initially very excited about this bib, I was very disappointed with the durability as several other people have mentioned.
Excellent Resort Shell
These bibs are outstanding at what they are: weatherproof shell for resort-focused skiers/riders. I only have 1 full season on them, so I can’t speak much to durability (no issues yet-knock on wood). But they’ve been totally wind/waterproof for me. The material is burly (and heavy) and lacks any real stretch which makes them perfect for anything lift-operated or close to a lift, but is also why I would shy away from buying these as an uphill bib for extended treks. The back is very stretchy and makes for a good fit for me. Im 6’0, 150 lbs athletic build. 29/30 inch waist and 32 inch inseam, the small is what I went with after trying both the S and M. It was definitely the right choice, as these do run baggy through the legs. This is perfect for me, as I wear leggings with either gym shorts or insulated knickers under them with no shortage of room for layering. There are more pockets than I know what to do with. Aside from water, these bibs can hold everything you need for a day at the resort. The venting is also fantastic, with one side zipping all the way open at the waist to allow for leakage (for men) and the other side being only slightly shorter. Straps are comfortable in my opinion, no problem fitting the elastic bottoms over ski or snowboard boots. All in all, if you’re prioritizing weatherproofing over weight and stretch, these are outstanding bibs. Just make sure the baggy cut works for you and doesn’t restrict you. Stoked for this season!!!
Best Bibs/Pants
I’ve been looking for a solid pair of ski pants that fit well, are bomb proof and super functional. I had been hesitant due to price but these are well worth it. So functional with the many vents, pockets and multi-layer protection. I had them in 10 degree weather with thick liners and I couldn’t feel the cold or the wind. They also shed water and snow like a plastic but breath like you would expect from gortex. I’d expect to have these bibs 2x longer that a competitive pant/bib that is half the price.
