I've had a nagging pain in my left foot due to many factors, one of which was over-pronation. After an exhaustive search for a "stability" running shoe that had a sufficient amount of cushioning (I find most stability shoes are too firm as I'm 5'7", 180 lbs), I decided to give the Andrenaline a try -- the 90-day return policy is great as it was no risk trial! So far, I'm really happy with it. The pain in my foot has subsided and I've started to enjoy running much more. I use it as an everyday trainer and even use it for tempo and track workouts (I'm not super fast so picking up the pace in these is not an issue). You've got a new Brooks fan!
My local shoe shop introduced me to the Adrenaline 20's and I fell in love. I wear a size 14 and am on the border of being wide. I opted for a standard 14, and they fit me well, with plenty of space in the toe box. They have much more cushion than my previous NB 860's and they offer much more support. The amazing feeling that they have given me has given me the confidence to continue to push myself - and ever PR I had has now been broken with these shoes! I run on a treadmill and on the road, ranging from a 5k to a half marathon. These are my daily go-to shoes, and when they need replacing, I'll be replacing with the same model!
Best running shoe I’ve ever owned. I run 20-30 miles a week usually so this is a prefect trainer for me. This year I’ve went through Nike Pegasus 37, Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit, ASICS Kayano 26 and none of them compare to this shoe. Extremely comfortable out the box. I love the guiderail system because it doesn’t feel unnatural on my foot and hard to get used to like other supportive shoes. I feel the toe-box could be a tad wider but I only say that because I’m used to trail running shoes. I’ve put 40 miles on them already. No knee pain, foot pain, or lower leg pain. I couldn’t say this about any of the other shoes I mentioned.
Overall really good shoe for 30 miles or more per week runners who are built like boxers as opposed to gazelles. Guide rails prevent excessive torque, cushioning is good. Heel drop might be a millimeter too much, though, as my larger foot keeps sliding forward against the toe box, even after trying different lacing techniques. Quite happy though as I already have 100 miles on these shoes and many more to go. Might buy up 1/2 size for next pair, even though I already bought up a half size for this pair. It depends on the last, and since it is nearly impossible to get to an actual shoe store, this works pretty well. Run well, Live well!
I had a problem with a GTS 19 and Brooks promptly resolved it by sending a new pair of GTS 20's they let me select! That's real customer service! These new GTS 20's are a better fit and more comfortable than the GTS 19's. Kudos to the person who decided to go with the softer laces, the're great and don't work loose! Now the "Cons" ! the color combos are too old fashion and lack imagination! Why so many shoes with white soles that get dirty so easy? Should have more light gray/med gray/black soles with colors that match up well with them. Maybe future models will look better! Keep up the good work and I'm off to purchase another pair of GTS 20's today!
This shoe has made me love running again - it fits well (1/2 size up) and it is comfortable. What I like most is that it cushions but allows for proprioception - like a good sports car. I also like that for some reason, even though this shoe has the highest stack height I've ever worn - the Adrenaline gts 20 guides me to the most natural and comfortable mid-foot strike. I don't know why but it is much more natural and comfortable at the mid-foot than my Hokas and Hurricane 22s and the Adrenaline saves my achilles and calf from strain. The guidance system works beautifully for me and its completely unobtrusive. Love these shoes.
I just completed two months of physical therapy after having had lumbar spine surgery and the one thing that both the neurosurgeon and the physical therapist advised was to purchase a pair of reliable shoes, something that offers both support and cushioning. Now that I'm able to walk again, I chose the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20s to get started again and am very pleased with my new "foundation!" These shoes have proved to be perfect for beginning my exercise program once again now after almost 2 years of absence. I'm only walking at the present time, but they give me all the confidence, comfort and support I presently require. My thanks for a great shoe!
I loved the previous GTS 19 version - probably the best running shoe I have ever had. But GTS 20 feels entirely different and unfortunately, I didn't like the shoe at all: Size and shape felt different (very tight) and running was unpleasant. The soles are very hard - you feel every step on the asphalt. I have sensitive Achilles tendons - this shoe immediately caused pain when I was running - something I never experienced with the GTS 19. I gave 2 stars because Brooks let me return the shoes and they recommended to try out the GTS 21, Beast 20 or Addiction 14. But for anyone who liked the GTS 19, I would not recommend this shoe.
What's ta freakin' say? I've been running in Brooks for decades+...Adrenalines for (I've lost track). Love the shoes and LOVE the customer service I get, when I need it. Here's the ONE thing I DON'T like, and it isn't just Brooks...it's every doggone company that sells me a product of service...EVERY time, I get a post-purchase survey!!! This morning my local Subaru dealer wanted feedback on an OIL CHANGE! ALL these companies, Brooks included, should program their computers to only ask for feedback every three of four purchases...NOT EVERY time. If I buy Brooks forever, THAT ought to show how happy I am. Insert smiley face here.
This review is not so much for the GTS 20, but the Adrenaline series overall after 19. I have been an Adrenaline man since 2009, and have been a huge fan of the series, but I read recently where Brooks changed the support structure of the shoe starting with the 19. Had I known this I would have never bought the shoe. I was also told that Brooks has gone all in on this new design, meaning they are not changing it any time soon. I am disappointed that Brooks would deviate so far away from the original design that is so key to the shoe, needless to say I will not buy another pair of Brooks until they change the design of the shoe.
