I am size 8.5 but a size 9 is what I got and it’s perfect for my toes. I love the snugged fit and how comfortable they are the colors are amazing too I used them a difficult hike with mud rocks and rain and they did not disappoint
I bought these in February for a 3 month trip that involved lots of hiking. They got plenty of use on all types of trails, including trails with slippery scree, and are the best shoes I've had for bouldering in Joshua Tree. The grip and traction of the soles is unbelievable. They are sharp looking as well. The fit is comfy and well cushioned for my medium width feet - I wear them with low top Columbia hiking socks. I live in Oregon and have not worn them in the rain or mucky conditions. I'd use my high top waterproof hiking boots for that. I've had several brands of decent hiking shoes, but these are the best!
I’m a big fan of these shoes. I’ve taken them out for a few light hikes, and they have been super comfortable. They’re lightweight, and they really hug my feet beautifully. I expect to get a lot of use out of these on trail runs or not-too-strenuous hikes. Another win for Danner!
I have owned MANY MANY hiking shoes and boots over the years. None of them were as comfortable or fit as well as the Danner 2650! I outfitted it with the Active Thick insole from Sole, also carried by REI and well worth it in my opinion. The insole molds to your feet giving this shoe even more of a custom fit. I have a slender long foot. This took up just the right amount of room for me, I can wear just about any type of sock with these. I am looking forward to many walks, hikes and trail runs in my future! I can see myself having more pairs of Danner shoes.
Comfortable, lightweight, breathable, and look cool too. No break-in time required. Even used for some light backpacking (including some time hiking thru the snow). No blisters, good arch support, and they dry quickly. Definitely my go-to day hiker and trail runner.
There’s a big BUT....super cute, comfortable and supportive at first... BUT the insole is made of silky wetsuit material so a socked foot slides... the cushion and support broke down super quick. The best shoe I’ve had in a a long time but simply no longevity. I’m a thin, lite on my feet, active woman... and they simply don’t last. If you’re looking for a cute 3 month active shoe, these are perfect!
I love the way these shoes look. They seem well made with study materials. They have good support. The fatal flaw is the narrow toe box. I wore them casually for a couple days without any issue. So, I set out on a trail. At the beginning of the short, 3 mile hike my feet felt great. About halfway through i started to feel numbness in the toes of my right foot. By the end of the hike I could hardly walk. My foot felt like it was on fire. It hurt for days after. Now, I have had issues with some discomfort in the past. The shoes didn’t bother the other foot at all. So, if your not in your late 40's and have narrowish toe splay, I'd say these are great. Sadly, they will not work for me.
I absolutely love these shoes. I had tried about 100 shoes before trying these and these fit me so perfectly and are so good. I just hiked the John Muir Trail with them (257 miles, 19 days). I kept seeing that they are not made for long-distance hiking and would like to disagree. You just gotta find what works for you! No break-in period needed. Hiked a 14-miler right out of the box. They are really light and feel more like sneakers. But are proper hiking shoes with a great grip. Love love
Totally OBSESSED. First time trying Danners and I liked these so much I ordered in multiple colors before they sold out. (1 color was). These check many boxes. I have thin flat feet and these are supportive and sturdy without being stiff or heavy. I love the monochrome blacks (hard to find all black mostly). Im mostly an 8.5 in athletic shoes and flats..heels an 8. Birks 39. I tried the 8.5 and 8. The heel slipped in 8.5 and toe box was a bit roomy and the 8s fit perfectly with room for a midweight sock. IMO they run a tad big. BUY EM WHILE YOU CAN. Free People has them as Does Zappos in case they are out of your size/color. I was able to get a price match too on Zappos. REI processed my order then sent an email that they were out of stock.
Grippy on rocks. Protective to my feet on loose rocks. A nice spongy feel. Grips my narrow heels while providing a wide enough toe box. I have the lighter gray ones so we shall see how long they stay pretty.
