Tough laces! Work well and are extremely well made! Need more color choices!

I bought these because I have hiking boots with sharp metal eyelets and they surely chew through my laces much faster than traditional plastic ones. The laces my boots were currently "working on" were about half finished. So I bought these preemptively so I wouldn't have to rush out when they did finally break. Now here's why they get a one star rating: my half-dead older laces lasted longer than my new allegedly "reinforced" laces. I didn't track anything with a calender. Rather, I replaced the first lace that broke and left the other one alone to break when it eventually would. The remaining lace outlasted my new ones! If that isn't a garbage product then I don't know what is.

Appeared strong and stiff, but within a month outer casing shredded. Happened to both laces roughly at the same time. I paid the high price thinking they would hold-up, not the case.

Hate on Asolo. Their customer service is pathetic. Their $300 hiking boot metal eyelet destroyed the OEM lace with 2 mos of in town wear - no hiking. They referred me to purchasing a new set of laces at full cost. REI to the rescue with these. They feel stronger on the sheath so I’m expecting no issues as they’re an aramid rather than nylon/polyester or whatever Asolo used. I will no longer purchase Asolo over this - ever.

I purchased these laces to replace a shredded pair on my La Sportiva boots. They're thin enough to easily fit through the eyelets and have a tough outer cover that will stand up to some serious hikes.

Replace the laces on my Keen work boots with these and they only lasted 6 months before I could see the core. Although I wore these nearly everyday they were not subject to a harsh environment, mostly just walking, crouching, and climbing long ladders. Returned and bought a hopefully more durable lace.

Superb laces, nice and grippy. The 48" fit shoe-type shoes, not boots (salesperson was not sure). Then red is nice too! :)

These were replacements for laces that were wearing out on my "running shoes" that I wear as just shoes. They work, and I suspect that they will last longer than what they are replacing, but they are also stiffer and like the laces they are replacing, don't hold knots well.

These laces a perfect. Durable and the perfect length. The red color is fun too!!

While the lace quality is good, the lace thickness is considerably less than the laces that are to be replaced. REI does not appear to offer the more robust laces, which are easier to tie, better resist abrasion and last longer than what REI currently offers.
