Super warm, mom loved it as a gift.

This is a wonderful fleece. I have my own in a different color and size. I purchased this as a gift for my mom's birthday, and she also loves it for the following reasons: - more fitted look compared to Patagonia fleece - washes well - very warm. It really is an outstanding jacket. My only gripe with it is that it seems to pill easily in high-wear areas (armpits and where the arms meet the body when standing upright) but it's hard to notice from a distance. I'm also 5'10" with a long torso, so the fit also works great. Super warm walking around outside in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather in UT.

Disappointed in the new fit

I fell in love with the sun stone/sand color way and it looks just like it’s pictured in person. I was also really excited they offered an XXS version since they said it wasn’t a trim fit this year. The cardigan fit closely everywhere except on the sides/back. It bags outward and it’s really unflattering. I noticed there is no side seam down the side, it is cut diagonally and I think that’s why it starts to push out when you’re moving around. I really wanted to love this, but I couldn’t get around the fact that it created love handles I don’t have when I was walking around. It’s not bad when standing still with arms out but most people buy clothes to move around in. I was constantly trying to smooth it back out to get it to stick more closely to my body and give me a shape. If someone likes a fit that is only baggy in the middle and fitted everywhere else then it could work for them. I would love to see this cut a little trimmer on the sides to match the rest of the fit because everything else is perfect. The material is really soft and it looks well made! Sizing was accurate.

Warm

I've owned this cardigan about a month and have mixed feelings about it. On the positive side, it is incredibly warm and the long sleeves are a definite plus. It’s perfect for everyday wear and also great for hiking in cooler weather. Additionally, it’s convenient to wear under a shell. However, there are a few downsides. The cardigan is quite wide and short, which makes it less flattering. Moreover, the narrow sleeves make it difficult to layer anything underneath. Overall, while it has its benefits, there are some design aspects that could be improved.

Great fleece - poor zipper

Love my 2 year old Covert, but the zipper has always been an issue - and now the bottom part of the zipper simply just fell off. I have many items with zippers but only from Arcteryx they seems to be of a not so strong quality. Hope it can be fixed in some way?

Manufacture's Defect...

After one year (April "20") of regular, but not 'abusive' use, the zipper pull mechanism just literally fell apart upon unzipping! No tension on zipper, it just gave up the ghost, so to speak. Will be returning, and considering possibly another brand, as this may be a 'one-off', or a bad run. As for the fleece in general, I have otherwise been completely satisfied with i t's performance, and the fit was perfect for my body-type (not a slim athlete). Yes there was some pilling; but not a deal-breaker for me; I'm more concerned about function and performance...and of course, lasting quality! I have a Norrona fleece from 15 years ago...been through the ringer and still in perfect 'working order'...wish REI would offer that brand...

Not impressed with this season's colors.....

I discovered the covert cardigan & hoodies two years ago and I now have over 15. Last year, many requested new colors to be brought in lighter colors (loved the yellow & light Titanite from past season!) and I know some requested a light pink & olive green so perhaps the Arbour Heather & Sedna Heather for this season was supposed to satisfy those like me that wanted these colors? If so, it failed for me because they are not the lighter shades that I tend to collect. I wanted more of a lighter heather pink & a light yellow olive green., so please bring more lighter colors (not neon!) such as white, light baby blue, pink & light olive!

Excellent everyday fleece. LT next season please?

I've collected several of these over the years. I think the Covert suits being a jacket more than a hoody because of its clean straight fit, so in jacket form it can look really quite smart. The Kyanite by contrast is figure-hugging and cuddly, so in my opinion suits being a hoody. The Covert is best as a standalone top piece, rather than for layering under a shell, although I've found it pairs very well with the Cerium LT vest in cold conditions. One request to Arcteryx - I see that the men get an LT version, which looks awesome. Please can we ladies get a Covert LT too? I'm sure many of us would love that! Thank you.

Good Warmth for Spontaneous Trips

Soft to the skin and keeps me warm Sizing is good for petite like me Length of the sleeve is perfect for my short arms (Taller people might find it short) Shoulder pocket is really functional for my compass card Arm opening is tight which makes it harder for me to do layering with it; It's good when I only wear thin layer inside. A bit looking bulky at the front face; it quite creates like a big space of balloon in front. Hoping to see this in wool or at least a blend of wool :)

I have an old version size M and want to buy one for different color. However the new size M is too boxy and arm is tighter. Should read other people review and not to order. It is not fashionable nor athletic, just make the figure looks very fatty. Even do not want to try to switch to smaller size.
