Little bike travel great distance
Been watching a lots of youtube video about Brompton. It is out of stock everywhere during the Covid situation. Happy to be able to get one from REI. The footprint of the bike is small enough to fit in my Smart Car trunk. I am able put it into the roof cargo box as well. Have the bike with me all the time mean that I can use it more often. Daily ride during lunch time is relaxing. The other day I was travel to another city, was able to get the bike out for a spin. It is a great way to explore a city. Looking forward to bring the Brompton for international travel. Just order another one for my spouse. It is a bit pricy but worthy!
Fantastic bike
I bought this bike two years ago for almost $2000 so the current price as of 11/11/22 of $1600 is crazy good - plus they throw in a light. This is such a fun bike to ride. Even though the wheels are 16" you forget you're riding a folding bike in the first 5 minutes. I'm 6" tall and the seat post is only just long enough. If you're taller you will need to upgrade the seat post, which is not expensive or difficult. You can also replace the handlebars with S type for about $50 if you want a more aggressive riding position. I added a rack, dynamo hub, QR SPD pedals, Brooks B17 saddle, drops, and QR aerobars. They are very adaptable. There's a lot of companies selling after market upgrades and they hold their value very well. Bromptons are considered to be the best folding bikes because of their design and build quality. They also have the smallest and quickest fold. I love being able to fold the bike up and leave it in the back of my car while at work, then go for an evening ride. It's also a lot easier and cheaper to take this bike on a train or plane. I just rode a century on it and, while it was more difficult than on a regular bike, it was still a lot of fun. Go on YouTube and search for Brompton. You'll be amazed at what people are doing with these bikes. Then buy one before the price goes back up.
Makes commuting easier than you can imagine
This is one of the best bike I have owned so far regardless of the size! I enjoy riding it for my commute and it rides comfortably over the hills and in the city! If you ever thought of folding bike, you can’t beat it! It will be your companion for commuting:-)
Best Bike bar none!
Wintering in Barcelona found superb Brompton dealer: Cap Brompton shop inside Roman walls amazing store. Rode it all over in most bike friendly city I've been in. Manhattan next, Central Park, West River Drive paradise; age, crazy taxi-truck killers stoped me. Now Orient on North Fork of Long Island & my black Brompton keep me alive!
An all around win!
I love this bike! It handles amazingly well for having smaller tires and the gear shifting is seamless. Not only is this bike a great choice for the city commuters, but it is also a great option for someone who wants to be able to put a bike in the trunk easily. No more messing with a roof or trunk bike rack. Looking forward to my next adventure with this gem!
As Capable as the Rider.
As a cyclist and a gear nerd, I give this bike 5 stars. I’ve seen my dad ride a brompton all around rural India, while I was happy to have a 29er hardtail. I had to *keep up* with a 67 year old on a Brompton. Wild. And I’m sure he has tested this bike’s worth with more miles and more heinous conditions than most people could fathom.
