Good all around fitness top
I like all of the Patagonia capilene tops because they never pill, they dry fast and they breathe. I prefer long sleeves these days, mainly for sun protection but also for a little bit of warmth in the early spring and throughout our Ventura summer days. IMO this top runs a little bit large, but the sleeves don’t. So depending on your preferences and body type, you may want to stay with your usual size. I sized down because I wanted a closer fit. My short sleeve versions of this top are all size small. Sometimes I wish I had purchased them in XS for a slightly better overall fit. Nice quality, whatever size you decide on.
Breathable Material
First, the fit is very flattering. Its not boxy, nor is it suffocating (other brands tend to run small in the arms for small sizes and I can't stand not being able to roll my sleeves up). Second, the material is my favorite thing I've ever owned. SO soft and breathable. Patagonia always delivers on the quality, and I think this shirt is worth the money. I've worn as a base layer for hiking, around running errands, and at the beach in the evenings. Works for all occasions. I purchased the small, and I am 5'2, 120-125 lbs, and 34C.
Cannot recommend highly enough
I have the misfortune of being both extremely sensitive to overheating and very prone to sunburn. I usually hike in tank tops during the summer so I can stay cool, but I inevitably end up with weird sunburns from my gear rubbing off my sunscreen. I wore this on a recent desert hiking trip in 90-degree weather, and it felt great. I barely noticed that I had long sleeves on, and the fabric wicks so well that I never felt like I was stewing in my own sweat. I will definitely be buying more of these!
Love the Capilene Cool line
I decided to splurge and give this shirt a try. I was a little weary that it'd be worth the full price, but now that I've worn this shirt a ton, I feel pretty confident that it's worth the price point. I brought this shirt with me on a week-long rafting trip in the desert and it protected me from the sun, kept me cool, and didn't get stinky despite being worn several times in the trip. It is moisture-wicking and quick-drying, and I use it for hikes, working out outdoors, etc. I've even used it as a mid-layer in cooler weather and that has worked better than expected!
Absolutely Perfect!
I normally HATE the feel of "sun shirts" and other dry-fit shirts. This is great! It's soft and roomy, very lightweight, protects great from sun. I've worn it on about a dozen hikes and its very breathable in warm weather, doesn't stink and is comfortable. I want to get another one but it's so easy to clean and dries quickly I don't really need another. Just wish they had more color options! I'm 5'3" 118lb and the XS fits perfectly.
Fabric made of magic?
Somehow even breezier than wearing a tank top. It instantly feels 2 degrees cooler the moment you put it on. That being said, I would not wear this shirt on a chilly day (I honestly think you'd regret it). The fabric is buttery smooth and cool to the touch. No uncomfortable tags at the back of the neck! bonus: It's strangely more flattering than the average long sleeve t-shirt. Awesome.
My go-to, but still gets stinky
I LOVE THIS SHIRT! I have several tattoos on my forearms which means I'm always looking for sun coverage that will keep me cool while hiking in the Sierras. This shirt is light, dries quickly, and keeps me cool. A home run! However ... I took this shirt on a six day backpacking trip in the North Cascades. I had to soak it in vinegar and wash it three (!!!) times to get the smell out. Still love this shirt, but just know that the anti-odor fabric doesn't work super well.
excellent sun shirt!
I bought one to hike in in the summer so I could protect my skin without sweating a ton. This shirt is so lightweight, you barely feel it. Even with long sleeves, it’s cool. I like that it is reasonably close to a crew neck rather than a V or scoop, which would kind of contradict the sun protection idea. Seems true to size. I liked it so much that I bought a second one, though I could wish for more colors. (For awhile they had a blue one, but I missed it). Anyway, great sun shirt! Glad I found this. I hike daily, so it gets a lot of use!
Perfect hot weather hiking top
Wore this for four days straight hiking in Volcanoes NP and it was great. Dried quickly after hand washing at night, even in high humidity. I sized up because I don't like snug arms and it worked well, not quite as breezy as sleeveless but I didn't melt walking across lava flows or through rainforest in 90+ temps, and more importantly didn't burn either. I despise the feeling of sunscreen and this was the perfect solution.

These shirts are the absolute best. Wicking, quick drying, and cool. I have them in about eight colors, and in both short and long sleeve. The white long sleeve is a particular favorite - it keeps me from getting burned without having to constantly slather on sunscreen. I wear it riding my bike, riding my horse, hiking, and floating the river. It moves and stretches just the right amount. A perfect all-around shirt for summer adventures.
