I purchased the nubuck grey and it is a true light gray, not taupe, but it's a nice color. I can see that it may possibly scratch easily. The heel is not too high and it is supportive. I have flat feet and the arch is not as supportive as I would want but I can still walk comfortably. I would recommend this boot.
