Comfortable but not rugged for outdoor...
After 3 years of use carrying cameras and big lenses from Antarctica shore to remote tropical Islands what I can say is : 1. the fabric connection between the sling and the anchor point is tearing apart and will likely soon break, hopefully my camera won't fall with it... 2. The metal spring-like part of the anchoring system is rusted, since the black paint felt due to friction, stainless steel would have been a better choice of material for this part. Just be aware it's a very comfortable and smart sling system but definitely not rugged enough if you are a professional wildlife/outdoor filmmaker, as intensive use will quickly damage it. I'll soon have to replace it but I'll likely choose a military-grade sling system this time.
My search is over. THE PERFECT Strap.
I bought this strap during the holidays so I used it during holiday travel to New Orleans and other locations. Hugs me perfectly. Keeps the DSLR (with an 18-300 lens) out of the way until needed, where I can just reach, grab, slide, and take the photo with ease. One of the best benefits for me... no more neck or back aches from lugging the camera on me for hours (or days)
THE Slide!
I really like this strap! I like the lite on that my GF got this one for my bday!. This strap is awesome, it it permanently attached on my D850 that I use for weddings. I like how comfortable is an the adjustment range. Only this that I the bend/crease on the middle of the padding, it was there straight from the box.
fantastic camera strap
I bought it, because I recommended it to a friend ... I really liked it so I had to get one for myself. I absolutely love the materials, the colors and the system. The anchor system is really great and goes well in this ecosystem. Quality is high as always. I love that I can adjust the length of the strap :-)
Believe the Hype
Well worth the $$$! After trying to find a better camera strap for my DSLR than the one that came with the camera, I stumbled upon the SLIDE via an article rating the top 10 camera straps in 2021. The SLIDE caught my eye and it was the best purchase I've made in recent weeks.
Slide Review
Purchased 6 months ago and has been flawless. I use this strap with my Sony Alpha 7IV. Durability, comfort, function and appearance are all deserving of 5 stars.
Efficient and effective
Travelling with a full-frame Nikon meant walking around with a heavy camera, changing shoulders to distribute weight, and worrying about secirity - the PD slide changed all of that. It's sturdy, comfortable and distributes the weight of the camera evenly across my body. More importantly, I no longer need to worry about someone grabbing my camera off my shoulder. The cross-body design ensures my camera is safe and secure. Additionally, it's quick and easy to remove the strap for storage, when using a tripod, and packing into my carry-on baggage. The materials in the strap are of high quality and the design is efficient. Highly recommended.
Amazing strap!
I have barely used camera straps in the last 20 years because most of my shooting is done from a tripod. When I needed a strap I hated every one I had. They just didn't work. I decided to try out a bunch of PD gear and ordered the Slide and Slide Lite. I LOVE them!! Really this is the best strap design I have ever seen. I love the fact I can put the attachment points on what ever I want and then just move the strap from camera to bag quickly. I love the seatbelt material these are made out of and the length adjuster is perfection. Really my search for the perfect camera strap had ended and now I find I use a strap more than I ever have!
The Perfect Accessory
Never thought this would be an essential piece of equipment I would need until now. After being annoyed by disconnecting and reconnecting my camera strap multiple times in one shoot I took the plunge and purchased the Peak Design Slide camera strap and have been thoroughly impressed since. Firstly the ease of connection was a huge relief but then the comfort, the ease of lengthening, the ability to connect it with my tripod, and the grip on the underside all made this one of my best purchases to date! The thought and design that have been put into this are second to none and I will openly recommend this to any budding or professional photographer.
Replacing 3 other straps
My usual set up as I go woodland walking is a Nikon D500 with a Nikon 16-80 lens attached. I also carry a Vanguard Tripod, its just too much effort to take a camera bag with more gear. I've been using for a few years the OP/Tech USA straps. They offer much more neck support and can be washed easily. However, I've been finding the weight on my neck after a few miles trekking just getting too much. I saw another photographer wearing the Black Rapid strap, and was very interested. So after a bit of research I actually found a YouTube review comparing it with the Slide. The Slide seemed to have a lot more going for it, and for me especially, I liked the way it connected to the camera. Because I have 2 other cameras, both infrared conversions (D7500s), I thought if I bought a set of anchors with the strap I could replace all 3 straps. And that's what I did. I've been out a few times now with the strap and with all 3 cameras (at different times), and I'm loving it. I don't have any aches or pains in my neck. There's no issues with shoulder pain, and I can easily slide it around into different positions if one gets a bit much. I also can get the camera on the tripod easily without removing the strap. I know most of the publicity shots show the camera on the side of your body, but I found my favorite position is at my back, with my second being at the front.
