Good bargain, good in between suit
I've had it in the water about 30 times and it's working well. I use it in 70 water and 70 to 80 degree air temps and it works to keep that chill off, especially in the morning before the sun is at full strength and I don't overheat when the sun is out. For me, it will be good down to around 60s and then I'll switch over to a full suit. Fit is pretty good. I'm 6' 2", 32" inseam, and 205 with kind of a barrel chest with skinny legs and I got the XL. It does tend to ride up and jam my "boys" a little but not too bad. If you're around my same dimensions and they have a Tall version, maybe order one of each and keep the one that fits best. Durability seems good. Stitching is staying intact and zipper still works. Should get a year or two of use out of it no problem. I'd buy it again.
Works
Used this spring suit in Mexico in late December/early January. Water temps were app. 65 degrees. The suit kept me warm. There were no gaps or puckering. I could get it on and off easily. I am 6'4" and 204 lbs.
Awesome wetsuit!!
Awesome shortie wetsuit! Tested in the cold waters off Gloucester yesterday and it fit perfect, easy on/off and kept me quite warm
A quality product at a good price but runs SMALL!
Seemed like a quality product at a good price, but returned it as it ran too small. My son wears an Adult Men's Large, so we sized up according to the sizing chart (he was in between L and XL) and ordered an XL online. It fit snugly over his legs and abdomen, but he couldn't even put it on over his arms/shoulders and zip up as it was extremely tight and uncomfortable. We didn't get a bigger size as it was only online and decided to wait to try on what is available in store.
easy on-off
Got this over a year ago and just used it for the first time. It’s super easy to put on and take off, and is comfortable, which was the main reason I wanted to replace my old (old!) one. In terms of warmth it’s hard to say. I used it in Maine where the water is pretty cold, but it’s like 80 degrees out! That said I was in for 2 hours and did not get cold.
Zipper broke
The zipper broke the third time I used it. Poor quality.
Very solid wetsuit
This is a very good shortie suit if you can get past the zipper in the back. I also have a Camaro suit which zips in front and I prefer that suit. Overall I would recommend this for a beginner who doesn’t want to break the bank.
Don’t buy
I ignored the review about the broken zipper and yet, mine broke on the 4th use. Unfortunately, that was past my return window at REI and outside the warranty window with O’Neill. O’Neill customer service was no help with telling me the kind of zipper slider body I could buy. Also, no tailor shops in town will touch it because of some special way O’Neill sewed it on. Spend some extra money and get a better suit. Other than the zipper, it fit great and I liked the swim with it.
Solid purchase, no surprises
Solid piece for a reasonable price. Says what it does and does what it says. Im 6'4" 215# and XL fits well. Its a back zip, so no zipping down the front to vent and the neck closure is good but a little fiddly. A good addition to the weather sporting wardrobe. More options with it than without. Get out there!
Seems small, hard to use w back zipper
Seems small, difficult to use back zipper. I was looking for a paddling shorty. Have used others, always size L, with no problem. This Large, while it fit, was so snug, it was impossible to zip up. Will return and look for front zip one.
