My go too jacket ! Very comfortable, feels fluid, no stiffness or restrictive movements. Awesome in the rain. Definitely Recommended Without a doubt, you should get one of these.
A very lightweight and waterproof rainjacket. The reversible feature is thoughtful, but a bit redundant (when the wicking lining is on the outside, it's not very water repellent and the inside gets sticky and muggy). The fit is somewhat svelte and slim-fitting. For someone with a larger chest and smaller waist, this is perfect. If you like a baggier fit, size up. I'm 5'9", 170lb with a 41" chest and 31" waist and this jacket is a perfect fit (I like it a bit closer fitting and not baggy).
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a firm believer in the OutDry Ex technology for thru-hiking and long days on the trail. This jacket is not as lightweight as Columbia's FW OutDry Ex but more durable due to the stretch material and the thick layer underneath. One thing I found rather annoying is the zipper that was used for the reversible design. It frequently gets stuck and seems rather improvised. A more durable YKK zipper would have been appreciated. Other than that, it is a great jacket which is more durable than its featherweight alternative.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket has become my go to spring jacket. The OutDry technology is insanely waterproof and comfortable at the same time. It should be noted that when wearing the OutDry portion on the inside of the jacket that it does get warm quickly as the OutDry fabric will not allow moisture to escape. The shine on the OutDry fabric takes some getting used to, but the reversible aspect of the jacket makes it easy to "dress up" the jacket if necessary. Great product which I'm looking forward to wearing for quite some time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is simply great, the softer interior is so much more comfortable than most 'sticky' waterproof jackets and the fact that it is reservable is a huge bonus. While I haven't found a rain storm that permeates this jacket yet, I'm fairly confident that I will eventually. Its stretchy and soft, looks good in both directions. The seams are sealed very well and finally I think I've found a jacket with a decently working Columbia zipper! For the price, this jacket beats all the similarly priced rain jackets.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried several brands of waterproof/ breathable technologies but I honestly can say Outdry outperforms everything. Have worn this is in a six hour constant downpour steelhead fishing in the Northwest and stayed completely dry without wetting thru. Only thing I think they should change is put less logos on the jacket.. I feel like a NASCAR driver or pro bass fisherman in this. Or make then more subtle .. the giant red sleeve logo is definitely too much.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been looking for a good quality and effective rain jacket at a reasonable price for quite a while. The Columbia Out Dry EX rain jacket fits the bill. It is quite a good-looking jacket. The color (gravel) is great. (I actually would have preferred the blue, but they were out in my size. )This jacket is very lightweight and packable. It'll work excellently as an outer layer if you need to wear it in colder weather. It repels water quite well, the water just beads up on the surface. The jacket is reversible. One side is kind of shiny, but looks good and the other side has a soft finish and also looks very nice. You can wear it either way, but if you have the shiny side out you have access to waterproof zippered pockets. It also has a hood. The fit is just right and I really enjoy wearing it. This was an excellent purchase and I highly recommend it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Runs true to size but if your the type to add a sweater or a thinner puffy coat underneath I recommend a size bigger. It’s spring time in the Midwest and we seen a lot of rain so far and this jacket didn’t disappoint being able to reverse the jack into something more casual is a nice touch also when the main water proof layer gets wet it’s on the shiny side visually which isn’t bad but can make you stand out from people around you.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket has quickly become my daily driver. This jacket is equally at home on a camping trip or reversed and business casual for work. The matte side has proven to be perfect for every day use at work the material is flexible and bends with me easily through all my tasks, it does struggle to breath though and can get warm and trap in sweat since the other side is designed to be hydrophobic. The slick side is ultra hydrophobic, I could step inside a shower with this jacket on and be bone dry when I step out I’ve never been more confident in the rain abilities on a jacket and I’ve had jackets by north face, marmot and Patagonia which were also good in their own right but if I’m in a downpour this is the jacket I want. I’ve had other Columbia products and while they have been good this one is simply on another level in terms of premium feel and quality of build.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a true men’s medium - 5’7” medium frame. This rain jacket is perfectly waterproof, provides adequate room to wear insulating layers and is simply windproof. I have worn it in 20F temps with wind and one would definitely want to wear fleece underneath. This is to say I would NOT give up my heavy-weight winter shell, but this jacket is a SOLID 3-season rain jacket that’ll get one from March to December in Ohio.
