These boots are keepers!

I love these boots. They are stylish and very comfortable. One thing I noticed is that it doesn’t have a seam where the toes bend, which I’m hoping will make them last longer. A previous pair of Keens busted at that spot after 5 months. It took wearing them about three times for my ankles to adjust to where the boots hit (my old Oboz fit a little differently), but after that, they were good to go! My feet are verrrrry picky and I did put a different insole in for some more arch support, but my narrow ankle and slightly wider forefoot are very happy in these boots. I got them in the normal size that I usually get my hiking boots in.

Love at first touch

I have wide clunky feet. I have struggled in many wonderful hiking boots with hot spots and lack of comfort, and I have trouble with women's boots generally because of width. I put these booth on and my feet did a happy dance. Wow. Insoles are super soft and cushy, lots of room for my wide feet. They are very light, and comfy enough that I can wear them around camp as well as hiking. Love love love!!!

LOVE THEM

Amazing shoes. Great for hiking! Warm and waterproof. If your feet super sweat you might not like these. But Danner is the way to go! But warning pretty much all Danners are a half size too big. I wear 8s and got a 7.5 and it's perfect.

Defective stitching

I enjoyed this product maybe 10 times before it started to split at the seam on the side of the shoe. It's definitely defective, but unfortunately ineligible for return.

Maybe ok lifestyle boot, but bad performance boot

I wanted to like these Danner Women's Mountain 600 boots. They are attractive, in a traditional way, and enormously comfortable just worn around the house. I was eyeing them as my next go-to backpacking boots. But then I took them on a weekend walk -- not carrying weight, mind you, basically just walking -- in the Mojave. Pros: They are good on flat surfaces, on sandy or gravel trails. Their wide base gives good traction on gravelly slopes. They are not hot. The lacing system is decent, especially compared to quick laces. There is ample room in the toebox (I sized up 1/2 size). They are relatively wide. No problem with heel slippage or toe smushing. They seem solidly made. Cons: They have some weird (and very bad) flaws. They seem to have almost no decent ankle support, not something I normally have trouble with. I felt my ankle might roll just walking down stairs. The thick curved sole makes footing clumsy and awkward -- like having a clump of snow stuck to the middle of your sole. I would no way rock hop in these, or do anything requiring precise foot placement. After a half day wearing them, my heels hurt to point where I was shifting my weight back and forth every 30 seconds in an attempt to relieve the pressure. Conclusion: People may like these as a solidly built, traditional-looking lifestyle boot to wear around town or for easy dayhikes on flat surfaces. But I am returning them.

Cost-to-comfort ratio

Cost was much higher than comfort. Seemed fairly well made, but didn’t fit my foot.
