Great coat, different color.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a hard shell for winter biking. Cuts the wind well and blocks rain/snow very well. Seems to be a high quality coat. Only issue is I ordered the red coat with maroon sleeves pictured in the ad and received a red coat with light gray sleeves. Not a deal breaker but it does not look at nice.

Difference of photo color and product received

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of the jacket is great and lightweight. I ordered the Red Mercury, Rich Wine color, and received a jacket that was red and grey. So beware if you are dead set on the color, it might vary.

womens plus out dry hybrid jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although it's a bit thicker than the Arcadia jacket and keeps you dryer it's a bit flimsy for the price. There is nothing there to keep the hood on like a little hook or clasp. I if the weather is raining and windy the hood will not stay on. I believe most of your jackets as well as the Arcadia jacket which should be made a bit better for the price and better waterproofing it's not totally waterproof.water still gets in. The rain jackets should be made of a better material where no water pent rates no matter what level of rain life belts at you. Something to think abou.

Fantastic Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this coat for a fall trip to Iceland - thanks to Hurricane Florence I've had a chance to test it THOROUGHLY ahead of time. This is very well designed, and has kept me dry outdoors for 3 days of high winds, and nearly horizontal rain. The fit is generous enough to wear layers under, even if you're at the larger end of its sizing range per the chart. This is a rain jacket, it's not insulated! I'd just about kiss the person that thought up the velcro adjustment strap on the back of the hood - that's genius. If I had to make a suggestion on this really solid product, it would be to add those little cinching toggles to the hood. You can tighten the hood but it will loosen after a bit. 10/10 - would recommend!

Some hopefully helpful details

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are things I wished I had known when I was considering this jacket: -Sleeves (includes shoulders since these are raglan sleeves) and hood are made of Outdry material, the rest is Omnitech -Pit zip only measures about 10” long and zipped only one way, downwards if you have your arm raised. This means it’s a pretty difficult to fully open the pit zips. Fit is right on, I’m petite 5’2” and am reliably a small, had enough room to wear a bulky sweater. Sleeves are a little long, but that’s a short girl problem maybe...overall happy with the jacket since I got it at a good price and it’s perfect for the 5 days of rain a year we experience in SoCal and it’s very lightweight and will serve it’s purpose on day hikes and in my travels.

Slightly snug but otherwise wonderful

My last Columbia rain jacket lasted 10 years so it was time for a replacement. This is everything I needed with waterproof, lining and zip pockets. The only drawback was the shoulders were a bit snug (but I'm athletic so that's nothing new) as were the hips ever so slightly. I think this is best designed for normal sized humans and not overly athletic types or even hourglass shaped females. The sleeves seemed quite long but the velcro adjustments help that immediately. The color is great and the style is super. Totally recommend.

Recommended!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket after chatting with an online Columbia rep about 3 jackets I couldn't decide between. He picked this one after I explained what I needed. I agree! This jacket is perfect! It fits very well, and I love that I can zip and/or velcro shut. Let me be honest, I legit thought that armpit zips were kinda a gimmick. A 'hey look what my coat can do' with no real purpose. Well, I stand corrected. It's a HUGE difference compared to a typical rain jacket. I'm impressed!

Fit for purpose from a Seamstress

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generously semi fitted for active and casual. Anorak style is aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. The overall lengths of high/low (front and back lengths) is ideal for most women's height .Arm length is generous but has a Velcro adjustment on the cuffs. The hood is also adjustable ...these features are terrific!!! I have been most impressed with this jacket! And with the light weighted durable material! It will last me for years with usage of 9 months out of the year!

Great Jacket for a downpour

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket to keep me dry on my morning walks. It does exactly what I want! I was walking and got caught in a downpour and my clothes stayed dry! Worth every penny. now if they only made them for dogs! I did buy a size larger thinking with clothes underneath it would be a good fit, it actually runs a little bit big, but the extra space is actually nice. The jacket does make noise, but after a day or two you don't really hear it anymore.

Pleased

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket for a hiking trip in Ireland. I love the zippers for ventilation under the arm pits, and I love that it fit me while I had a very small day pack on UNDER the jacket! There were several days of intense rain as we hiked. A hurricane happened off coast and the remnants came to shore on my visit. This jacket kept me dry as can be. I am 5'9" and 265. I carry my wait in my hips and belly. I ordered the 3x and it fits to my liking.
