Light and warm
I was a little skeptical of this jacket when I first got it because it was so lightweight, and I was worried that it wouldn't keep me as warm as my 3(!) other similar puffies like this. I have to say, I was surprised at how well it stood up to the wind and cold. I really like how the neck of the hood comes up high enough to keep off the wind, and that it's not too bulky, so it doesn't get caught in my belay device and fits nicely under my soft shell when skiing. The one downside is it sounds a bit like you're wearing a bag due to the material.
Fantastic puffy
One of the best purchases I have made! It is so worth the money. I wear this jacket nearly every day. It is so warm but extremely light weight. I can fit it easily under a shell without feeling restricted in the slightest. I cannot recommend this jacket enough.
Great active wear jacked
I was lucky enough to get to wear the Puff Hoodie on two ski trips this winter: to Park City, Utah and Niseko, Japan. This hoodie is awesome. I love the quilted stitching, that helps maintains the loft and keeps the jacket warm. The length and bottom of the jack is great--I love the tapered fit, which keeps that the jacket from riding up. The jacket sits a little longer than some others, which I prefer. For deep powder skiing, I still used a shell with a powder skirt, which fit sleekly over this non-bulky jacket. The hood has the same elastic as the bottom, so you don't have to cinch it to get a comfortable fit that stays in place. This jacket was both great for skiing and wearing around town during the Minnesota winter.
Warmish, nice fitting jacket, snags easily
I consider this an upgrade to my nano puff jacket. I like the fit a lot better. The arms are longer, and the hood is surprisingly effective at keeping heat in. The jacket is incredibly light, which is perfect for traveling, etc. however at this price point it isn’t as warm as one would hope. Only with a wool base layer does this function in 40-50 degree weather. Another downside is thin, delicate material. I got an unfortunate hole in the front of the coat after owning it for just one season. Bummer!
Better than I could have imagined in every way!
My fiancé got this jacket for me as a surprise after I had been eyeing it in the store and online! I LOVE IT. I could talk about this jacket forever but I'm going to try to keep this succinct. I read the REI reviews on the same Micro Puff jacket without the hood and was concerned because the people who wrote those reviews weren't impressed with the fit and had said the jacket fit small in the arms. I really don't know where that is coming from! I usually wear size small and I actually ended up getting an xs in this jacket. It fits very well and I don't have particularly small arms. I even wore a hoodie sweatshirt under it and it did not feel tight at all! And can I tell you how amazing it feels with just a shirt on under it?! It baffles me every day that I wear it. It is incredibly warm (even for your hands inside the pockets on 30 degree weather) and feels like I'm not wearing a jacket at all; it's SO lightweight! We did get rain one day- jacket was amazing. Also, I got my jacket caught on a sharp metal object and my heart sank thinking that my jacket was sure to have ripped... it didn't! I honestly couldn't believe it. This jacket is tough, warm, unbelievably lightweight, comfortable, and can fit well with base layers. I recommend it to everyone including those who are rough with their stuff, get cold easily, and don't like messing around with bulky jackets.
Super lightweight and warm
I purchased this recently for a trip to the east coast. I wore a T-shirt, light fleece sweater and this jacket on top. I was completely warm and comfortable in the mid-20's temperature outside. Sleeves are loose enough not to restrict arm movements even with the fleece sweater under it. It packs down to nothing, too! I love this jacket.
Windproof and Warm!
Purchased the Patagonia Micro Puff Hoody for a trip to New Zealand. We had a few days with high bone-chilling winds. This jacket kept me toasty as promised, but I was awestruck that a jacket so thin could be so windproof. I literally couldn’t feel any wind or chill. This jacket also has a super flattering fit while allowing great movement. Arms are nice and long, something I struggle to find in most jackets. I often wore this jacket with the Patagonia pack out pants which are sleek, but thick and also warm.
Warm but not good quality
I purchased this in late January of 2018 and after one month of light use the fill material started to come out to the jacket at random areas on the jacket, specifically at stitched areas. This is a great coat, lightweight and really warm but the workmanship is poor.
Looks like an ill-fitting trash bag
I am not a fan of this jacket at all. The fit is very strange- snug around the hips and loose in the chest area. The hood is an awkward mess. The overall quality of this jacket is nice and typical of the Patagonia brand, but the fit sucks and seems inconsistent with other Patagonia jackets I own. I exchanged for the nano puff.
Too long for short person
I wanted to love it but way to long in torso and sleeves for my 5ft 1 in
