Great until!
Bottle is great, kept water cold for the whole day until the cap broke apart. With no replacement available it is now completely useless.
Works Better than Yeti
I've got a Yeti and a Co-Op bottle and the Co-Op bottle kept my hot chocolate warmer. I took it skiing in WA and I could barely drink my hot chocolate b/c it was still so hot!
Content stays warm longer
Great product! perfect size for a day hike or picnic. The lid seals perfectly so it doesn't matter how it lands in your backpack. We recently used it on a day hike at Yosemite, the temperature was in the mid 40's. We pour boiling water very early in the morning and it was still hot enough for a tea after 10 hrs.
Hot and Stays Hot.....!
This winter my hiking partner and I decided to do some cold weather hiking in the Spring Mountains in Nevada. Winter hiking, being a new experience for me, I had to 'expand' a bit on the gear needed. My partner assigned me the task of getting a container to keep hot food hot on our cold hikes. She was skeptical when I brought this 'water bottle' back to try, but it was the day of the hike so she begrudgingly poured in the hot meal she worked on all morning in the bottle, it was piping hot at 6 AM in the morning. We hit the trail at 7:15 AM with a temp of 16 F and 1-2' of snow on the 'trail', perfect snow hike. After about 4 hours on the trail, it was time for lunch and the 'test' to see if I would be 'scolded' for getting something not becoming a hike like this. Well, low and behold, when we took the top off, a sudden burst of steam hit the cold, 11,000' air, a good sign....! Pouring it into our plates, the food proved to be almost as hot as it was when we secured it in the 'water bottle' 5 hours earlier. We've used it on 5 separate higher altitude, 'snow hikes' this winter and every time, the food was hot. Not bad for a 'water bottle' plus, my oh so serious hiking partner was for once impressed with my choice of hiking gear......!
Dented before I even got to use it.
I was washing it when it slipped out of my hands fell into the sink and dented before I even got to use it once. Took it back the very next day to try to get an exchange because I was completely unsatisfied with it. REI would not honor their guarantee. Wish I brought a Hydro Flask instead.
With a couple of tweaks this could be GREAT
I bought this bottle for when I play tennis in hot weather as it's big enough to hold a lot of water and is insulated. In general I'm really happy with it. Pros: Keeps beverages cold, especially if you add ice, even colder longer. Looks cool Lid is a screw top, seems very water tight (no leaking) and you can hold it by the bottle top. Cons/where it needs improvement: For being such a big bottle, it could use some texture - either ridges or notches or just something other than smooth metal on the body. While I can drink from it with one hand, I often use two just so that it doesn't slip (especially if it's hot out and my hands are sweaty). I wish I came with a sip lid. Maybe that's something REI can think about for the future. I find this to be a great product and would definitely recommend.
Great Bottle
This bottle replaced a Stanley that I owned for almost 10 yeas-- but was difficult to clean. This is not! Wide mouth, and the lip is super smooth, very nice to sip on. The handle is great, and my water stays cold for hour upon hours. Def. worth the money!
Poorly constructed cap
The loop top came unglued from the part that screws in to the bottle. Get what you pay for I guess
Cap breaks easily
The flask does what it should until the plastic cap breaks (easily) leaving a foam filled cork in the flask and a useless ring in your hand. I have not been able to locate a replacement camp - so I will look elsewhere for an insulated alternative
Just the right size
Just the right size and performs as advertised.. It is with me everywhere.
