Not often can you honestly say something made me a better something. I bit the bullet and upgraded and can honestly say that. Immediately felt at home on these sticks. The early rise “air” tips make them rip through bumps and feel way smaller than they are but still float on the powder. Actually is a single ski quiver. They were at home in the steeps and glades in Whistler. They flowed and floated through the crazy powder in Mammoth last season. They bit hard on the early and late season ice in Tahoe. Highly recommended and if they improved upon what they had, kudos to Rossi.
These skiis do everything right. I stepped off a pair of Rossignol Bandit B3’s, 195’s to these 188’s. These skiis are so much lighter than my old skis that I was over turning them at first. After a few runs, I got used to the new feel and it was on. Super good in the minimal powder, great at high speed GS carving and almost as stable on the straight line as my old skiis at 65 mph per the GPS tracker. Even better was I was less fatigued at the end of the day. I’d recommend these to everyone and anyone.
If you’re hesitant to pull the trigger on these because you think they’re not going to handle your groomers and cruisers, don’t be! These are more than capable of carving with the likes of the higher end Rossi all mountain skis. You won’t need a second set with the Soul 7s. Well actually, you’ll want to use your current skis for “rock skis”, so I guess you will!
Grew up skiing but hadn’t been on the slopes for 15 years. I’m 71 so I did lots of research before buying these skis. My greatest regret is that I didn’t have these long ago. Fabulous at Mammoth. Tremendous at Whistler. I’m baaaack!! And in love with these sticks.
Devoted Rossi guy since skiing on orange StratoFlex as teen in early 70’s...on Slats since 2012...workhorse boards...tried Soul7’s on a bluebird day at DV...magic carpet ride...crisp carving...highly responsive at higher speeds...plus style points...thanks Rossignol!
I bought these skies after hiring them for a week off-piste in the alps, they were so responsive and do every I asked of them. Now owning them I use the for every from touring to on-piste skiing as I am confident carving at a casual pace and are just light enough to make moguls very enjoyable. I could not have been happier with spending my money on these and I can’t see how skies can get any better.
when you see these skis in the lift line you be wishing they were yours. And they can cause the people at rei are good at what they do. set me up with what i wanted not just a sale. so go buy a pair and feel good about it . CAUSE I AM. Looking forward to this ski season. THANKS REI.
I'm still riding and loving my original yellow tip, Soul 7s. I'm worried there won't be a replacement when they finally get too beaten up. I ski well, but I'm not in the Freeride World Cup. Give us something like the Soul 7 that helps take us to the next level.
Demo’d The Sould 7 skis at Deer Valley. Usually ski on Sky 7, didn’t think there would be as big a difference between the two. There is for sure. Sould 7 glide across the powder and float down the mountain. Definitely a great powder ski!
I needed a ski that I could go into the backcountry with but still hold a good edge on trails and groomers. This ski does everything, high speed cruisers, Woods, steps and even chutes! A true all mountain ski!
