Excellent road hazard protection, okay mounting

As the name implies, this tire is thick and puncture resistant. It has worn well on my rear wheel for 700 miles so far. It is my first WTB tire, and I will order an identical one soon for my front wheel. No flats so far -- I also use thick, puncture resistant tubes and check for thorns frequently. A couple months ago I noticed that this tire had picked up a sliver of glass that had embedded 3-4 mm deep into the tire. That would have ruined many other road bike tires. It left a gash in this tire, but I'm still riding on it with no issues. Mounting difficulty was about average, which for me is an important consideration. The tire has a steel bead, but is not unduly stiff for mounting. Working slowly and patiently, I was able to mount it myself without ruining the tube. Yay.

Worst Tires Ever

I ride about 5,000 miles a year and installed the thickslicks on one of my road bike. I typically will get 2,000 miles on a set of tires. The thickslick, however, lasted a couple of hundred miles when a bulge developed in the front tire and actually burst while I was riding. Luckily I was on flat ground and was able to pull over safely. I chose these tires because they were suppose to be durable but turned out to be opposite. I contacted Schwalbe and sent pictures of the "defect" but have not heard back. Way to stand by your product.

Great for Every-Day commuting!

Love these tires! I have been using them for about 2 years now on my single-speed commuter bike, and I really like having an affordable slick tire giving less rolling resistance that still has a nice, thick tread to protect from flats. Constantly shocked at the size of some of the glass chunks I pull out of it that get stopped by the tread before they reach my tubes!

Do not buy! Got a bump on a front tire

I got a set of tires beginning of October and rode my bike occasionally on weekends. After around 300 miles I found a bump on a front tire. I'm glad I was able to identify it before it bursted. Despite of very nice look those tires give to my bike, they don't last long. Very disappointed :(
