Dry fit dress - where have you been all my life?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 5 ft tall 120 lbs bra = C. The extra 10 - 15 lbs is all in my belly. I ordered a small online through West Marine (the blue one). It is perfect for outdoor/wet activities and rainy weather. It feels like I have nothing on it is so cool. It dries very quickly and is not uncomfortable wet like most clothes. It is perfect for Florida life. I loved it so much I came here to order more. According to website sizing I should be in a small (perfect around waist and breast and snug through belly). I bought a small and medium. The small was way too snug around belly and had to send it back, the medium I kept (the red one) and it fits almost exactly like the small blue one. So I would say runs slightly small. I want one for everyday of the week.
Comfy and lightweight
We are traveling to Florida and it's going to be 95 degrees. I opened the package and the dress is so light, I know it'll be great in the heat. The length is right to the knees just as I like it. The sleeves are about 1/2 inch too wide, but it's not too bad. The pattern I got wasn't my top pick (they were out of a lot of styles in my size) but it looks nice and I'm glad I got it. I will definitely be purchasing more! Just so comfy and light! I'm 5'4" and 155 lbs. I usually wear medium shirts and large (size 10) bottoms. I got a large and it's almost just right, possibly a tiny bit loose, but still very comfortable. Medium probably would have been too tight.
Awesome beach spa pool cover-up LOVE!
Just got this last night, and OMG it is more than I hoped for. Light breathable stretchy material, lovely beach-inspired pattern, good cut - not too fitted, with some wiggle room around the waist. Easily pack-able & wrinkle-free, perfect for travel. I am getting another one right away for good measure. Size Medium fits me well, I'm 5.7", 145 pounds. No built-in bra but have no fear, ladies! This baby comes with some extra layer in the chest area. Hits me just above my knees. Wow! Thanks, Columbia! Thanks, REI! :-)
Really wanted to like this dress, but...
Due to the poor fit, I returned this dress. I originally bought in large, and then tried the XL when the empire waist seam of the large was at nipple height. The L fit well with the exception of the empire seam but was a little snug on my middle. The XL's empire seam still hit at my nipple, and the overall fit felt a little too loose. The XL hit at the nipple and then didn't contact the rest of my body in the front. For reference, I am 5'7, 184lb. 41chest / 35(narrowest point on waist / 44 hips. Great material for a swimsuit coverup or for a hot/humid climate. If they re-design the cut I will try again.
L-O-V-E this dress!
Was a bit skeptical but I figured that if it didn’t fit I could always return it, I didn’t have t, this dress is absolutely a must for the summer weather. Reminds me of an emperor cut, not clingy around the abdomen, light, flowy material, very comfortable, pattern helps divert attention from mid torso. The size chart put me in a Large but I ordered an XL, I’m 5’4 at 185lb fits perfect. Hope this helps.
My Favorite Dress
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could not believe how comfortable and flattering this dress was until I tried it on. Made of sretchy, wrinkle-free fabric, it is the perfect dress for a warm, summer day.
Comfortable and light
I got this dress to wear in 90 degree Florida weather and it was perfect. I wear it with a white t-shirt over top which gives is a skirt look. I get compliments whenever I wear it. It also pairs well with a jean jacket. Like the others said, it dries super fast and packs well. It is stretchy in the bust area but if you're small with a large chest it could be a challenge to make it look nice in that area.
Whoever designed this dress had it wrong.
I was so happy with this dress, at first. Loved the pattern, material. The easy draping for hot summer days. But something was very wrong about the design. The front is an umpire waist which I normally like. BUT.. they put a seam which cuts upward in the front so it doesn’t fit below your bust. It cuts across it. The back has the seam in the right place. Why did they do this? It makes no sense and is uncomfortable to wear I remedied it by wearing the back as the front. And the weird front in back. I do have that triangle front and center though. I would return it but it’s been over a month. Purchased a Small. I’m 5’4”, 115 lbs.
Not for me
The fabric felt very cool, thin and airy, but unfortunately will highlight every bump. I recommend sizing so that the dress hangs off of you slightly. I found the dress to be way to long and flared out too much at the bottom. I would feel silly wearing this for any outdoor activity. The back of the dress rode up as well, but that is likely due to my body type (junk in the trunk). Might be a great fit and fabric for someone else!
Easy summer dress - Great fit
I actually bought this last year but the fit is great, especially for my hourglass/pear body type. I’m 5’4” and 130lb with 32DD and a small in this fits great. I never expected a swim dress/coverup to be flattering but this one is. It also washes up really well. I can wear a swimsuit or underwear underwear under it and both work equally well. It’s made out of swimsuit material, so dries really quickly if you get it wet.
