Perfect Lanyard Biner
Just perfection in efficiency, light, strong, twist, lock, safe. Drop the mic!
Nice lightweight locker
This is a nice lightweight autolock biner. It is easy to open one handed, and works well with a Grigri. The rotation of the red locking sleeve is firm but not so tight as to be difficult, and the knurling and dimple cuts in the sleeve provide a good grip. The gate opens 20.5mm by my measurement. I like the color scheme since it stands out and makes it easy to find. It is my new go to locker and my favorite one ever. It would be a little better if the knurling extended a little further in each direction along the locking sleeve, especially toward the gate opening. Also, it is a little easier to use right handed than left handed because the dimple cuts are on the thumb-side when used right handed, but on the finger side when used left handed. It would be better if the dimple cuts went all the way around the sleeve.
Very Secure!
I bought this to go with my Petzl Connect Adjust Lanyard. The carabiner is super secure, there is no accidentally opening it. However, when you have it connected to the side of your harness, you're on a wall and you need to get to it quickly, I found that it feels unnatural and awkward to push down, turn and open with 1 hand and blind (since it's at my right hip and I was using my left hand). I fumbled around, ended up holding onto the wall harder and got pumped. I switched it out with a Petzl screw lock carabiner and it worked perfectly! This carabiner is sturdy, durable, a great size and I feel that it will keep you 100% safe. I will use it while climbing, camping and hiking but not with the Connect Adjust Lanyard.
Supreme
All hail the best locker of all time. Doesn't get much better for the most versatile locker I can think of. Super easy to use one-handed, incredible interface with the Grigri, flawless with a connect adjust, at home on any part of an anchor, and a great emergency carabiner when building an extended sling out of scraps mid-pitch because your partner didn't bring enough. I don't go climbing without it, using anything else on my Grigri just feels wrong. Get faster transitions with the Sm'D, and have more fun with the best gear!
Perfect for small hands
Perfect for smaller hands and climbing. I love these and started purchasing multiple after I realized I could unclip them so much more easily than standard or larger size carabiners. These are great for small hands and super sturdy.
Solid but a little stiff
Nice lightweight carabiner. Good once it was locked, but I found that locking and unlocking it the action on mine was a little stiff. Not sure if this was just a flaw on mine or the design.
Critical safety flaw. Beware!
If these are left on an anchor that lays across the rock, DO NOT leave them facing gate to the right. If the carabiner is dragged to the right across the rock the carabiner can unlock and open. I watched it happen while belaying from the top in Joshua Tree. Fairly fringe case but you should be able to leave a locking carabiner unattended. I have returned these and will be going back to screw lock or the older style Petzl that had to be lifted AND twisted to unlock.
Great auto-locking carabiner
Similar to most/all petzl carabiners, the Twist-Lock Autolock Carabiner has smooth action. I had no issues with this carabiner. The auto-locking mechanism is easy to use and reliable. I am personally not a fan of auto-locking carabiners but I would recommend this product to those that are.
Ease of use
The quality can be felt in the weight and ease of use. Got one for child who climbs and this is easy for him to use. It's easier to turn and locks well. He feels safe with it and we bought after seeing climbing instructor praising its use as well.
