Good secure wallet for travel.
Thia is good secure front pocket wallet. I have had it for about 5 years. Some reviewer claimed it was supposed to hold a passport. I think they were confusing this wallet with the V150, which is much larger. This one is just large enough to hold US currency and credit cards, which it does well. The elastic does eventually stretch out, but it still functions. All the slots for cards are still tight and the zipper works fine. I keep the loop around my belt, as I have lost wallets by leaving them on store counters. You can drop it and it is still in arm’s length. Plus the slots open towards the center of the wallet, so they cannot fall out unless you open it up pull them out of the slots. That is a big plus.
Descent Travel Wallet
Purchased for a recent trip to Germany. The wallet is light weight and has RFID protection for your credit cards. There is a convenient zippered coin purse on the outside. The wallet is designed for small currencies like the Euro. US dollars must be folded to fit. Only negative is the leash to secure it to your belt or pants. Is this is to deter pickpockets, why make it in a bright light gray color? To me it draws attention and says, “Hey I have something valuable in my pocket!” Why not make it black? Lastly the elastic strap that holds it closed will probably not last too long.
Original was bad, replacement was good!
I have written a review before this one, but I need to add a few comments and change my rating. My previous rating wasn't very high because the cards were extremely difficult to extract from the slots. It was so bad that the wallet started tearing at one place. I returned the wallet to the closest store and tried another one there. They happened to have it in the store. To my surprise the new wallet (same pacsafe) didn't exhibit the same tight slots for the cards. I'm glad I returned the one I previously bought because it was obviously defective; either that or they fixed the problem (reported by others) on their next batch! In ay case, I like the wallet now and don't expect any problems.
Weak elastic band
I have bought two of these wallets and both have had the same issue. The elastic band wears out and becoming very loose. My cards have fallen out of my wallet several times. Not good.
Barely showing any wear after nearly a year
I bought this last spring before embarking on a 10-month, 26 country trip and it still looks almost new. The elastic strap has held up surprisingly well, and was definitely convenient when the wallet was stuffed full of multiple low-value currencies and tons of receipts. My assortment of credit cards fits fine, the divider in the billfold part was great for separating currencies, and the coin purse is handy. I found the strap to be a bit useless, but that's why it's detachable.
Failed rfid scan
I bought this for my son and he ran it through a rfid scan and it failed. Not good
RFID wallet
I of course appreciate RFID blocking products. This one is convenient in size -- good for throwing in a few credit cards and some bills. I wish it zipped, however, as items in the bill section can slip out, and you certainly wouldn't want to stash the extra credit cards in that part of this wallet. I'd say it's great for carrying light loads of things you want RFID protected, but I wouldn't choose it as my only wallet.
Love this wallet, but...
Love this wallet. I am on my third one and when it wears out I'll probably buy another. But if it were a few millimeters wider US currency would fit in in. :-)
Small profile, plenty of pockets
I wanted something that was small profile to take backpacking, but a bit more durable than the old ziploc bag. It does the job nicely. It has two large bill sized pockets and several smaller card sized pockets, a zippered coin pocket and it closes with an elastic band. It doesn't hold a lot, but I didn't need it to. I also like the clip-on strap that can be removed, or I've used it to clip my car key to the wallet.
Small and secure
I got this wallet for my brother who loves it (sans wrist strap). It's small and thin but holds everything you need and probably some stuff you don't. We travel quite a bit so the added security of the RFID blocking technology was one of the selling points, on top of it being lightweight and it seems to be pretty durably built as well. Great product!
