Nice to wear, bad for impact
Used this for my first full day out this season. It's ok; definitely not worth the $160 price tag, so I'm glad I got it for like $50 during Thanksgiving sales. Sits kind of higher on my head compared to deeper 'bowl' shaped helmets. I have an oval head and this fits ok. Chin strap is way too large (like laughably so), and can't get it tight. Even at its tightest it still hangs below your chin enough to put all your fingers through. You can tighten it with the dial on the back, but it'd be nice to secure it better with a more fitted strap. Almost no padding between the foam inside, so the one time I took a chonk to the head during a tumble it really impacted my head hard. It was a powdery day, so it must have been the base layer or maybe a rock or something, but I was feeling it for the next couple days because of the lack of padding. It felt like my head just smashed into hard foam instead of being protected. It's warm enough and looks nice, but I'll be replacing with a more padded impact-friendly helmet that sits a little lower and stays in place better.
Light and great fitting.
Bought this to replace a Smith Vantage helmet. Much better build quality. Outer shell wraps around and up into the helmet.
