Looks good, but not as practical as you'd think

I have had my Fenix 3 since it came out, replacing my Fenix 2. It's been a great wash, but eventually, the silicon strap gave way. I thought this strap would be a good replacement, but unfortunately, it doesn't quite live up to the expectations. the strap does fit well, and the kit includes some torx drivers and extra screws to make removing the old strap and attaching the new strap very simple. When installed, it has great fit and finish. Unfortunately, over time, the matte black coating on the hardware does not stand up over time. I'm very gentle on this watch; I usually take it off when I'm rock climbing, etc. And with that light use, the coating has already started to wear off, exposing the metal underneath. Nothing quite so counter productive for matte black than shiny metal. Second, the strap takes much longer to dry off. Obviously, woven nylon will hold more water than silicon, but it's something to consider, especially if you wear your watch constantly, like me. And something else to consider, along with the extra moisture comes extra funk! So be prepared for that. I'll probably end up returning this strap and getting the regular black silicone one, when I get around to it. Although this strap appears more durable, I prefer the day to day practicality of the original silicone strap.

replacement for Fenix 3

Purchased to replace a broken rubber band. For the price, it is extremely uncomfortable. The stitching on inside rubs the inside of the wrist to the point that it is not wearable. The band as a whole is very stiff. I am usually very pleased with Garmin products and accessories, but this is not a good product.
