OMG what flexibility
I had the 25L version of this bag, but the 35L is so much nicer. The compression straps on the side allow you to chinch in down to carry small loads (unlike the 25L). The internal frame makes it much more comfortable (no frame in the 25L). There's a second internal flap for keeping gear dry when over stuffing (not in the 25L). This is my go to extra lightweight weekend bag. climbing / biking / skiing / trekking
Good for short climbing trips, but little else.
I bought this about 13 months ago, and wish I could still return it! It is fine for short treks to climbs, but as another reviewer pointed out, the lack of pockets make it not very much use for hikes. I'm not rich, so I wanted a bag for both things, and this even having just one quick access mesh pocket would help. The newer version of this also doesn't have a mesh pocket. The reason I'm really knocking this down is that I went on an 11 mile in and out hike, all up on the way in. I sweat quite a bit on this hike, and when I took the pack off, the entire back of my white shirt was covered in red dye (the color of my pack) and my shoulders also had some red. I really expect better from Patagonia that dye that runs!
Too lightweight
I thought this was a decent pack. I loved its ability to expand and contract to fit the demands of the day. It is lightweight, has a good suspension, and can fit quite a bit of gear once you start stuffing it all in. But it only has one zippered pocket throughout the entire pack! This meant my snacks, wallet, phone, keys, headlamp, chapstick, and small rechargeable battery all ended up in the same compartment. I ended up returning it for this reason, and instead I use an older heavier hiking pack for climbing days due to it's ability to organize my gear well.
