Last puffy you'll buy
This jacket is extremely warm, holds it's loft astonishingly well, and is full of great features such as the soft brim on the hood, front double zip, the two external chest zips, and the two massive internal drop stashes. I also love how the internal layer of the sleeves is elastic - it hugs my arms when i'm just wearing a tee underneath but expands to accept additional layers without fuss. And the outer layer feels durable enough to last a long time even with abuse (the shoulders and outer portions of the sleeves are made with a higher denier as well). I haven't been this happy about an insulation purchase in quite a while
Warmest coat ever.
Absolutely warmest coat I've ever owned. I've been wearing it in -30 windchill with a t-shirt to walk my dog and actually sweat. The pocket options are plentiful, well thought out, and very deep. The ways to tighten the different locations on the coat are well thought out too. While you can't tighten the wrists that's not enough to deter from buying this coat. It's the perfect January/February in the midwest/northeast coat. I bought it on sale. If you catch it on sale there's absolutely no reason to not buy it.
Great very warm jacket!!
So far (it has not been that cold, but a few times) I really like this jacket!! It is definitely very warm!! Everything looks to be very well constructed . And best of all it was on sale and i saved a lot of money on it's retail selling price. And I supported a local business as I live near Steamboat!!
Alaska worthy
This was my 'uh oh' jacket for an expedition to Mt Sanford in Alaska in April of this year, and while my toes were cold, my upper body was as warm as can be with appropriate mid and base layers underneath in -20 with sustainted wind, while living, moving and sleeping on a glacier for 5 days. 100% a worthwhile buy if warmth is not something you can compromise on. Paired with BA's Shovelhead jacket, this is a match for any weather north America can throw at you below 17,000 feet.
