Rated 5 out of 5 by from An amazingly comfortable shoe I have arthritis in my feet and walking for any period of time is uncomfortable.. I've tried "walking shoes", which help for awhile, but after an hour or two, my feet ache. No more. I bought these Keens before my wife and I vacationed in New York City. We walked a lot during five days and my feet felt great. I have several pair of Keen sandals which are really comfortable, but the Monfords are even more comfortable. Well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am hooked on the Montford! I was going to Spain for a couple of weeks which would entail a lot of walking and I needed a lighter shoe to go thru a rainy Spain. The REI salesperson took a look at my block feet and recommended the Keen Montford and I am sure glad she did. I was a little apprehensive at first just from the initial looks of the shoe but I dove in and never looked back. I am now about to buy my second pair of Montford in magnet. The shoe is fairly lightweight and fits my wide(4e) foot with no issues. I have now had them for 6 months and they have taken a bit of urban abuse but I don't think I would take them hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value, Great Hikers Following the trend of having Standing Desk I soon discovered my footwear was inadequate. I tried trainers, a "Jungle Mock" and running shoes. On a whim I picked up the Keen's. Best hunch I've had for a while, they are fantastic and great for long hours on my feet. I would highly recommend these shoes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keen's still got it I've been wearing Keen shoes since I discovered them back in early 2011. Now have owned 3 pairs of Keen's in 5 years. Last a long time. I extend the life by installing a new insole after about 10-14 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Trail Shoe Big fan of Keen shoes. This shoe is excellent. Shoe is a bit wider than most shoes. I typically wear a 9 but in this shoe I had to go down to an 8.5. Excellent on the trail.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice width in the toes I had neuromas removed from both feet. Most shoes still pinch my outer toes and cause some pain after a while. These have more room in the toes, which I like. I had to add a small pad to the ball of my foot. One drawback is that the tongue pokes into my ankle just a little. After many miles it's just a tad irritating. I just pushed the tongue deeper into the shoe and it's all good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesomely comfortsble I bought these shoes and have been wearing them everywhere on a 3 week New Zealand trip. Hiked 10 miles with a 30 pound kid on my back for many hours. feet felt great. Also they clean up pretty well. Very worth the money. Honestly they aren't the best looking but functional for sure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking shoe - just didn't work for me To start with this is a very nice looking shoe. It didn't need much breaking in if any. The downfall is it didn't give me enough support through the day - by the end of the day my feet were sore and my legs were tired. For that reason I'll be returning the shoes.

How good is the grip on these shoes for hiking mtn trails? The soles don't look like it has a lot of traction. Also is the fit right? Too small? Too big?

Asked by: REI bud
For me they run large. Normally I wear size 12 on Keen shoes. 11 1/2 fit on my right foot, 11 worked on my left foot. [yes one foot is bigger than the other]. My feet were swimming with size 12. Did not buy as I would have needed both sizes.
