Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adept and inexpensive Went out for 12+ mile to the "Bridge to Nowhere." Great durability and comfort. Waterproof upper helped with the 6 river crossings. The salesperson mentioned insoles for people that need arch support; I have flat feet, went with the stock insoles, and I'd have to agree with her. I'm going to upgrade insoles for the next hike. They clean up easily and fit great with no break in period.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ankle support, light and breathable This is my first pair of Vasquez hiking boots in 39 years. I am very impressed with these. They are sturdy but lightweight and breathable, important when living in the humid south. Due to a right-ankle surgery and reconstruction, I must keep that ankle stable to avoid twisting and damaging it. These boots offer enough ankle support, for day hikes and a lightweight pack. I am a volunteer Appalachian Trail maintainer for a stretch in southwest Virginia and encounter plenty of rocks and roots. I have a high arch, narrow feet and an even narrower heel, so I am not the easiest to fit. But these are great!make a

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior hiking boot Broke in easy, no blisters, really actually seriously waterproof, light, decent ankle protection without being too tall or constricting, and breathable. Be careful about the lacing - you can pull them tight enough across the bridge of your foot to make for bruising over time. Heavy tread is great for steep ascents and descents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight hiking boot Bought these for my boyfriend before a trip to Yellowstone. They are really lightweight for their size. He enjoyed hiking up and down some steep trails with these suckers. Kept his ankles supported and his feet never got to hot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfortable, fragile I found these to be comfortable, with good traction & decent support. After only 11 miles of Sierra Nevada hiking the mesh sides are abraded & frayed. They also leaked slightly. I'd recommend these for around-town use, walks in the park, and easy trails, but not for anything rocky or sloppy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from amazing but narrow Always loved Vasque boots however tried on my usual 11.5 size and even went up to 12. Seriously too narrow. Love the look and over all feel but hurt to just wear around. May not be best choice for people with even the slightest wide feet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vasque: All Time Favorite Shoe I've been a happy Vasque customer for over 20 years. Don't know how many pair I've gone through. I'm loving the Monolith Mid WP except for one little thing. The toe box could be just a bit roomier, but still comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased for Search and Rescue Training/Missions So far I'm very impressed with these shoes. I used to only get 9.5 size shoes but, at the good'ol age of 42 I've been needing to get size 10 shoes and purchased these in a 10.5 which is working out so far. #KCSR #SAR

Are these boots suitable for snow shoes?

Asked by: JH1
Took these shoes to Banff, Jasper, and Calgary, Canada this past winter.  Temps were down to -15c and at those temps with smart wool socks after about 1.5 hrs feet will get very cold if walking through snow.  I also found the soles to be very slippery.  I fell three times in areas where my family members had walked with no problems.  They had different shoes.  I do like the looks of the shoe.  I agree that they tend to size somewhat narrow and found that it hasn't stretched at all.

Will I need shoes a 1/2 or full size bigger to compensate for hiking socks?

Asked by: otorres818
Hiking boots today are designed with the presumption that you will wear a midweight hiking sock with the boot. If you plan to wear a midweight sock, order your street shoe size for this boot. If you plan to wear something thicker, then you might find a half size larger boot fits more comfortably.

Do these have a rigid mid sole to support crampons?

Asked by: Arash H
The Monolith Mid WP Hiking Boots are not crampon compatible as the sole is not stiff enough.
