Great Boot - Very Narrow

It's a testament to how well this boot skis that I'm giving it 4 stars, despite returning it after a few tours. Performance is sublime, both up and down the hill. Unfortunately, it's built on a 98mm shell, which means if you have wide feet, or muscular feet from other sports like me, these boots might not be the best fit for you. I ended up with brutal blisters (2 on the left foot; 3 on the right) and sore pinky toes after just 1.5 hours touring. The narrow shell put tons of pressure on the outside of my toe box and inside of my heel, effectively keeping my heel from locking down all the way. I tried to size up to a 28.5, but found the shell width was the ultimate problem. If you've been comfortable in 99mm boots in the past, give the MTN labs a shot. They're fantastic boots. But if you feel those pressure points immediately, take it from someone who tried packing them out and making them work with my feet, you might want to try Scarpas or other such AT boots built on wider 101mm.

Lightweight but super stiff, and yes narrow

2nd season on the mtn labs and they are *almost perfect touring boots. The 2 buckle lightweight boot is amazing, makes hiking a breeze. I have narrow feet especially in the heel so overall the boot fits well, but the tight last on the boot does make my toes sore after a day of touring. Not terrible and some soreness/pain is to be expected with any ski boot (this aint snowboarding), but since these are touring boots it'd be nice if the last was a bit wider (100,101). I would like comfort over performance in the BC, other way around in the resort. But the performance of these is stellar, the stiffness lives up to the description even for a 2 buckle and lightweight boot. One other slight issue is the transition to ski mode after hiking, the switch on the back of the boot doesn't always want to go into ski mode right away. Kind of a pain having to flex back and forth trying to lock it in. Has not broken or been damaged on my boots yet but usually a bit of a nuisance when getting locked and loaded to ski down. Overall, if you have a low volume/narrow foot, check them out!
