The PERFECT casual pants...
Bought these pants to replace my aging outdoor/hiking/camping wardrobe prior to 3 weeks away in South Africa. Slim fitting style but loose in all of the right areas make these pants easy to hike, travel or lounge in. All I can say is that I look forward to wearing them as soon as they are out of the wash. I can't say that I was impressed with the $80 price tag, but they were exactly what I was looking for when I tried them on at REI. I honestly don't mind paying a bit more for stuff - if I get what I want and the bottom line with these pants is that I got a lot more than I was expecting. Tough, heavy weight fabric (without being too hot or feeling like I am wearing some remake of 80's parachute pants). Slimmer fit with articulation in all the right places like my knees and butt that let me avoid wearing a pair of "Rex-Quando bad boy" weight lifter pants every time I want to hike or climb. white streaks after first wash
I love these pants, they look great, they fit great. I love the pockets and the style. But gee. I washed them ONE TIME in cold water on the delicate cycle and hung them up to dry. They look terrible! The color fades and the pants have white streaks everywhere. The almost look like I tie-dyed them. I am so disappointed.
Nice, but crease/wear badly
I bought these while traveling and loved them for the week I wore them before washing them. They fit great, looked great, and barely wrinkled. However, when I got home and washed them for the first time (inside out, as recommended) in a gentle front-loader washer, they creased badly and the colour lightened along the creases. Tried to wash them several more times, but the light creases remain.
Britches

Strange sizing through the waistband.
I ordered a pair of these in the same size that I have several pairs of Revolt jeans (which I really like). These fit well through the legs and butt, but the waistband was too tight to be comfortable. Ordered another pair, one size up, the waistband was right but now the legs and butt were too baggy. Returned both pairs.

Hard working pants that will pull off dinner out
I am always happy with Kuhl pants now that I’ve had the chance to try on and get a feel for several different variations. They’re not all the same and the different cuts will fit differently but now that I’ve got my vibe on for the Free Ryder and the Law Jean, I know I’ll love them. I love the recent purchases of both.

Great pants, just a little small, but not terrible.
Near perfect pants
When I first received these, I was concerned about the tightness in the thighs compared to the baggies of the calves: I like tapered jeans because they mimic the the shape of your legs and I find that much more practical so they don’t “swish” against the other leg, look like the ridiculous JNCO jeans, etc. These have the right amount of taper for athletic legs where the bottoms still fit around boots and don’t look like you stole your sisters jeans. My fears of the thighs being too tight were alleviated after wearing for 15 minutes - they just kindve naturally made more room. The fabric is heavy, but not so bad as to be stiff and cumbersome. Kuhl really put a lot of thought and work into these and it shows. These get five stars for me and I will be buying more in different colors so it doesn’t look like I’m wearing the same pants everyday. If I had one single thing I wish was better, it would be that these are minimally stretchy. I assume if they were more stretchy, it would effect the heaviness of the fabric weight, so I’m totally cool with the balance kuhl has struck. Highly recommend these pants.
