Not as comfortable as my old M.U.L.E
I bought this to replace the one that was taken out of my garage one night. I liked the pockets they added on the belt and the dividers in the tool pocket are better than my old one. The big problem I had was the with the back panel and the three "pods" that where designed to hold the load away from the back for ventilation. It did indeed keep it away from my back for better ventilation but the lower "pod" dig into my lower back and was very uncomfortable. Even after adjusting the back to sit hi or low I still couldn't get it to fit right. I ended up returning it to the store and getting the basic M.U.L.E. hydration pack.
Made for an epic ride
This is a well thought out pack. Lots of storage, a rain cover, and a 100 ounce water bladder lets you be well prepared. It also lets you carry the weight on your waist with vents that allow air flow to your back.
Great MTB backpack
I almost bought a different model, but the knowledgable sales person pointed out that the NV backpack allows greater airflow--pretty important point on those hotter days! This pack is lightweight and compact, yet holds enough for a long day ride. Outer pocket lets you stuff arm warmers or a jacket without having to unzip the pack, and they stay secure in the pocket while riding (even if you crash haha).
Not sized for men
Way too small look for the Camel Back Volt if your over 6'
user friendly
multiple pockets, light weight, much more durable than I thought it would be. Air flow through the back is generous. well made pack.
Make hiking so easy
The mule is so comfortable and gives you enough space to keep with you some important items I will recommend it
great features but major design flaws
I really wanted to like this pack; it's sleek, has lovely pockets, seems to be built pretty tough, and comes with a great next-gen 3L CamelBak reservoir, but it had a number of major problems for me. 1) The odd back suspension always had one of the pads digging into my lumbars, no matter how I positioned it on my back. 2) The cool design of the magnetic hydration tube clip worked great when delightedly fiddling with it at home, but was barely functional when riding. I also found the tube to the included reservoir 3) I personally didn't find that the pack had nearly enough capacity for gear and food, but then I also bring a substantial tool kit and lots of food on my rides, so that may not be an issue for everyone. Bottom line is if the suspension works for well for you, and you're not looking to carry much gear, this could be the pack for you. Otherwise I'd recommend something simpler.
Good upgrade
It is upgrade from M.U.L.E model. What is better? Adjuster on shoulder straps are not sharp anymore therefore more comfortable to wear it. Better expandable packets. I like HV- High Ventilation system. Good backpack for simpler 5-12 hours hikes (one of better in this class of backpacks). Recommended.
