Great quality shorts but run WAY small
I typically wear a 32 (ok, fine I'm climbing up to a 33 now a days #newdad :-/) but I just ordered a pair of these shorts in a size 34 because I read to order a size up. When I tried them on I was hardly able to pull them up over my waist. Frantically went to my closet to confirm 32 pants and shorts fit and they do, phew. I was able to button them but they were extremely extremely tight, unwearable. Will have to return this item for a 36. In terms of the product itself, seems super durable, great flexible material that seems great quality and comfortable. I ordered the 'black' which is a lot darker than pictured on the website, indeed closer to black then the dark grey that’s shown.
Honest-to-Goodness; just the best
You're perhaps looking at the hefty MSRP on these shorts and wondering, "How can this be worth it?" This is quite simply the best "over short" I've ever owned. The construction and material hasn't shown an ounce of wear after wearing these day-in, day-out over several years during my commute. I'm going to chalk this up to the aforementioned "seamless gusseted double layer crotch." My only word of warning: peruse the manufacturer's website and see if can identify your body-type among the folks in the photos. If you can't, order a size up. Rest assured, a stranger's going to whistle their approval when you pass on by. You can thank me later.
Stretchy
I have a 29 inch waist, got the size 30 and the waist & legs fit OK on me (Chrome Folsom shorts). One thing I don't like though is the flare on the hips of the shorts, are these women's shorts? I would've returned them if I noticed before removing the tags and washing them. Maybe they put it there to ease the strain on the fabric when in the cycling position. I like the stretch fabric though.
Great functionality but fit is a bit off.
I really love the fabric and the added features that make this a commuting short. I ride very often (daily) and I need a comfortable short that is good for a lot of movement. This does that really well, plus on rainy or hot days the wicking is great. Very well built, however, the pockets flair a bit to much for me and it's a bit tight in the thigh. I do have large legs, but I couldn't come down in size from the waist to account for this.
Sizes way off
Made the mistake of not trying these on. Awesome material, looked to be a great length for a bike short. Get home and they are no where close to fitting in the waist. Enough that I checked the size. Felt off by a size or two. Sadly will have to return them as I can't wear them. Read online after... my experience is not unique.
Good quality, stylish and comfortable
NOTE THE FIT! These are a slim cut with a very small waste. I wear a 31 in skinny Levis and a 34 in these. I wear them as casual shorts around town and they are stretchy and comfortable on the bike. They work well for what they are designed. Two downsides are the price, but if they are as durable as they seem and other Chrome products they'll last a very long time. Also, the pockets are very shallow. I have not had a problem, but I wonder about a smartphone slipping out while riding.
