Train-Wrek
Went to Canada on a Rocky Mountaineer Train going thru the Canadian Rockies. Mounted this on the outside of the train to capture the beautiful views of the rivers and bald eagles Worked great! However when mounting make sure to double check to make sure it is secure. The one time I did not check and just walked away was the one time I mounted it incorrectly and it fell off losing my go pro along the River back in a remote area. This was my fault. Worked Amazing and will purchase again when I purchase a new go pro.
Suck cup
Suction cup attached to the side of the car and no issues. Only tried it to 60 mph and held firm.
User Error/Joint Issues
Overall I'm very pleased with my new suction cup mount! I use this mount primarily when I'm going off-roading because it is easily mountable on my windshield, and there has only been one experience to date that I ended up being unhappy with the mount (though it is also partly due to user error, I'm sure). The instance in which I was unhappy about the mount was the time when my windshield got slapped by a branch that had been pushed back by the vehicle in front of me. The suction cup itself remained in tact and on my windshield, but the joint that was holding the camera at its proper angle was pushed back to where I was now filming straight up in the air. This is mostly user error, because I should have tightened it down better and should have watched out for the branch incoming, but being human it is in my nature to place blame elsewhere from myself! In summation, the suction cup mount is very good and I would highly recommend it, just be careful to tighten down all of the joints as tightly as possible.
Great-Only When It Works
I loved this the first time I used it! I was using it on my sail boat to capture pictures and take videos throughout the day and it stayed stuck the whole time! The second time I used it, in the same way, it did not stay so stuck. Again I took it out sailing and after about an hour, it must have released and tumbled off the boat and into the water before we could even realize what happened. I only wonder if it took a cool video as it fell to the bottom of the ocean. But I guess we'll never know. When this mount worked it was great, and I was extremely upset when it didn't. It didn't quite SUCK enough I guess.
A good quality item but disappointed
As expected, another absolutely fantastic item from GoPro. BUT. It didn't appear to come with all the necessary bits and pieces, which I was very taken aback by, as GoPro are normally spot on. The mount for the quick release catch wasn't included? :( The suction cup also comes with a little adapter which changes the way your GoPro faces. Again, absolutely amazing, but I needed an extra screw to mount the GoPro on this, which wasn't included. Luckily I can dig into my heap of other accessories to find these two things, but if this was someone's first accessory, they wouldn't have all the equipment needed.
Far more useful than expected!
I bought this on a whim in order to capture a time lapse of a day-long drive, but have ended up using my GoPro more often because of this mount. When you find the right surfaces, it makes the camera far more stable than simple arms or setting it down. At one point, I put this mount on the back of my iPad and recorded some staged "hidden camera" interviews for an ad, something I hadn't thought of doing before. So it's given my GoPro new life :)
Prescott Hill Climb Driver's School
As a complete GoPro novice, I desperately needed an idiot proof way of recording my bad driving without ruining the brand Hero11 Mini. This suction cup worked a treat, evebln tho my car wasn't exactly squeaky clean, it still stuck itself on there and helped record me dragging my little car up a steep race track. Thank you suction cup for doing your thang! :raised_hands:
Sturdy sucker
Really sturdy sucker mount! I've used it to mount my GoPro at freeway speeds and in really bumpy situations and it has not faltered. I'm pretty sure it will rip my quarter panel off before falling off.
Dodge Demon catchy enough:checkered_flag::joy:
That’s why I make pizza because I know how to do that very well every time I get the GoPro‘s updated it’s just not my cup of tea so I have a friend help me with them:joy::joy::checkered_flag:
It’s got suction
As with many people I too was unsure of how well this would adhere to different surfaces…well I made sure all surfaces were smooth and un textured and never had a problem.
