Awesome 1st bike!

This bike is great for your little dude! My son is a little over 2 years and he loves his bike. It's a great 1st bike. He always wants to get on it, he has a great time on it and there's plenty of room for adjusting to his growth spurts. I recommend this highly, I will continue to buy diamond backs as he grows. It was the brand I grew up riding, so, always a brand to rely on for quality.

Average quality

Bought for a 3 year old coming off a balance bike. After riding for 1 day, we made the following observations. The build quality of this bike was poor at best. The crank had tight spots as it was rotated that resulted in more effort than should have been necessary to pedal. The wheels were both slightly wobbly (out of round side to side). The bike itself is very heavy, almost half the weight of the child which makes it hard to pedal, especially on sloped ground. The seating was too tall and the bike has too short a frame/wheel base. Bad ergonomics that made it difficult to ride. Ended up returning the bike and purchased a much higher quality (and 3x the price) aluminum bike from a different manufacturer and supplier. The new bike worked perfect and we were able to completely skip training wheels. After this experience I would recommend buying a bike that is light with a properly sized frame and skip training wheels if the child is comfortable on a balance bike. It only took an hour or two helping out and the our child was off riding without assistance like he had been doing it for years.

His first bicycle.

My little son loves this bike, and even more so when he let go of his tricycle to learn his new bike. It's safe, bike is built quality, has a chain guard, reflectors, and training wheels. It's a very nice transition-to bike.

Perfect for...

Bought this bike because my 5 year old was struggling to get off the training wheels with his 16” bike and it worked flawlessly! On his first day he was able to go almost 100 yards without the training wheels. The second day he was riding without any help!
