Synchilla Snap Pullover
I received it on the brink of fall and have been using it for fall season and into winter season. It's quite warm. I intend to use it throughout winter with additional layers. I've put it through some rough use. It's been rock climbing, camping, hiking, dog cuddling, etc. and has held up so far. I hand washed it once with good results. Obviously the fleece was softer and the pattern more pure when it was new. The fleece has started to turn a little fuzzy and the pattern is less crisp as a result. Size: I ordered a small. It fits how I would like. Here are my measurements: Waist: 28.5 Hip: 32 Chest: 33 Shoulder-Hip: 23 Photos taken after a month of daily use. I included a picture of me in a regular shirt with measurements for comparison.
I love the pattern, but worth the price?
I bought the Dark Currant/Kuta Klash. I really love the color and vibe but it is getting little red fuzz allover everything. I was going to wash it but I don't know if that is recommended, it seems the idea with Patagonia is to avoid washing things at all costs. I am a little worried it won't be good anymore if I wash it. I guess I will just try it and then I will return it if it doesn't work out because I spent so much money on it I should know what happens if I wash it I guess. I bought a medium and it fits fine. I would say usually I am usually going more for larges in tops so this goes along with the idea of it running big.
Worth every penny, it’s like wearing a hug!
Obsesssssed with this! I been on the hunt for a fun & funky Patigonia for the longest time and finally found one! I have lived in New York my whole life, and now living in the city. With the seasons changing and long winters I am no stranger to layers. I have a few fleeces for specific things (skiing, spring, running, etc) but this one I find to be the most universal for all activities. Throw a vest on it, wear under a wool coat, or under a denim jacket and your set. My only complaint is that it does shed a bit but nothing too crazy!
Great on Cool Days.
The pullover is perfect for cooler weather and I enjoy wearing Patagonia products, but for some reason this pullover is not true to size. I ordered a woman's medium thinking it would be the perfect size. I was not worried about the sleeves being too long. When my pullover arrived, it looked as if it were sized for a man. After taking time to visit my local REI, I was able to find the pullover in an extra small that fit perfectly except for the sleeves of course, but was an ugly color. Thanks to the determination of my salesman, we were able to locate a favorable color. It would be helpful to get size information especially on items purchased on line.
Watch the sizing
Maybe size mislabeled? Until this order, Patagonia sizing listed has been accurate for me - medium (8-10) fits well. I ordered medium, it was labelled medium, but it was huge, sleeves hung down over my hands, was about 8" wider than normal medium. I drove 2.5 hrs to REI store to return it, and am glad the salesperson found another, in XS (0-2) which fits me like the 'normal' medium. I would not call it lightweight fleece, have true wonderful lightweight and midweight fleeces from Patagonia, this would be heavy weight, soft and warm. Does leave fuzzies where seatbelt rubbed, other weights haven't. Ordered the blue / pink fern.
Size down!!
I just love the synchilla snap-t! I want one in (almost) every color! I have one other synchilla but it was HUUUUGE. I followed Patagonia's size chart and did the little quiz they have to determine size and it said I should get a large. My better sweater and retool are both larges so I thought it would be fine, maybe a little bigger that the others. Nope! Anyway, read the reviews and believe them- size down 2 sizes if you want your synchilla to fit like normal. If you like it more baggy, then just size down one. For reference, I usually buy M/L shirts, I'm 5'6 and about 160lbs.
Love the retro look
I tried to resist this top with the blue Hawaiian print, but it is like a trip a trip to the beach, whenever I wear it. This style is more boxy than the re-tool snap, so I needed to buy a smaller size than I have in that. Its origin as a smaller version of the original top for men shows in the boxy shape, slightly longer length, as well as the direction of the snaps. I anticipate getting a lot of use out of this versatile top. The only negative for me is that it does not have the kangaroo pocket of the re-tool snap.
Love the fit and design, does shed
I am usually a size S in most tops, and I am glad I went with a S for this purchase too. I think the fit is meant to be baggier/looser, so only size down if you want a more fitted look. I do think the shoulders are appropriately sized though, so hopefully sizing down won’t be too tight on your shoulders. One star removed because it does seem to shed, as some others have pointed out. Doesn’t bother me much but I can see how it would for others. Otherwise, I love the Berlin Blue color way. It has a fun and casual vibe, and in combination with the loose fit, this is a much cozier, more relaxed fleece option. I recommend!
Buy Mythic Pink ONLY If You Want to Leave a Trail
I have been a long time buyer of this fleece style and the Mythic Pink caught my eye because its a fun spring color. WHAT A MISTAKE. After several washes, the fleece continues to shed on everything. Anything you touch, it leaves a coating of pink fuzz. It is incredibly frustrating to be covered in pink fuzz everywhere you go. I regret buying this color. Patagonia, shame on you for not testing this product for everyday wear.
Sheds like crazy
While this is comfy and warm and I like the print, the shedding over everything is making me crazy. Its ruined my clothes I had on with it.
