Great light
This is my second purchase of this light. The one I bought last year kept me riding all winter long. Unfortunately you only get about 1.5 hours on high so I bought the second light as either a back-up or to use simultaneously on a lower setting. The flash setting is great when approaching a busy intersection, all the drivers turn their heads to see where it's coming from. The only down side is that the light seems to interfere with the speed reading on my bike computer when they are mounted near each other on the handle bar and the light is on. Granted my computer is a $30 cheapy and this may not happen to a higher end model.
Hydrophobic!
This light works great and extremely useful...until it begins to rain. I have had this product for 3 weeks and after a 6 mile ride through a Louisiana thunderstorm, the light wont turn off and clicks through the light settings on its own.
Bright & Easy to Use
I use this light frequently. It charges quickly, is super easy to mount, and small enough to carry around if I don't need it. The variable light settings are great; the bright beam is almost like a car headlight, and the flash setting is perfect for being seen. Especially love the side-lights, as I seem to have better attention from drivers at intersections with this light than my former commuting light.
Very Happy With This Light, But.....
Just bought this light today......used it for the first time and am very happy; the only small problem I can see is that the mounting is a bit out of date / 1 dimensional: a) make the USB cable much longer so you can recharge the battery without dismounting the light from the handle bar (by connecting the light to a wall adapter) b) re-design the mounting so you can easily remove the light to re-charge it or to take it with you when you lock up your bike to do errands.
Drain The Swamp!
I was using my Ortleib panniers as a “cooler” at a music festival. They were filled with a couple 2.5 gallon kegs and probably 10lbs if ice each. That was a really heavy bike! Before I did that though, I took out everything and put it in my backpack. What I didn’t realize was that I left my Light & Motion Urban 400 in one of the panniers all day. The ice had melted and it was just a bag of water. That light was in there all day! I can’t remember if it was full of water. I do remember that the lens was fogged. I thought it was done. DONE! I just figured I would be buying a new light. It sat around for a month and it dried out. And I plugged it into the charger and it charged! And I turned it on and it worked just like it always worked. Amazing! Now it’s a year later and it’s time for the music festival again, and time for panniers full of beer and ice. The light still works. Just so cool to have something that works like it should, and then some.
