Great product

I've used this bag for urban touring through England, Italy, Spain, Chile and of course the US over a period of several years, and I've loaned it to friends for their trips. It still looks like new. The size is great - able to carry a water bottle, umbrella, point/shoot camera, glasses case, passport/ID, and hat/rain windbreaker. With all that, it still feels like a small shoulder bag. The security features are also well thought-out. I particularly like the ability to secure the bag to a chair when dining street side. My only complaint is that it is not water proof. It can handle a drizzle, but it needs protection in a downpour.

Carried everything I needed!

I traveled with this bag in Europe for 6 weeks, and it was the best shoulder bag I've tried in many years of international travel. It was easy to organize and find things, it carried my Kindle, a travel book, toiletries, a wallet, maps, a water bottle, AND my SLR camera! (Yes, it was heavy...) Oh, and my passport - in the RFID-safe pocket, under the extra-secure flap - for those times I needed access to it easily. I always wore it cross-body, and it was always easy to access everything. If I were to recommend any changes, it might be to have more pockets in the main compartment, but that's minor. I bought it for all the security features, but they turned out to be the bonus!

Everyone asks about my Pacsafe bag

Everyone keeps asking me "who makes that bag, and where did you get it?" Followed by, "I'm going to get one of those." I use this bag travelling to/from work in place of a purse. I have room for all the usual purse stuff plus my Kindle e-reader. I can carry a skinny water bottle in the outside pocket. The security features such as the wire mesh lining, locking zippers and RFID pocket are all great features that make me feel more secure out in public. I also have the Pacsafe 300 bag, and like the 200 for its compact size. I will use both of these bags for vacation travel.

Almost, but not quite

I used this bag around-the-clock for three weeks in Europe. The size of the bag and the main compartment were great. My complaints, and why I will probably exchange this bag, relate to the velcro outer flap and two side pockets. The two side pockets were great for holding small and short water bottles, but they kept coming unsnapped and flapping open when not in use. What can I say? It bugged me. And really, the bag only needs one of them. If you loaded both of them, the bag would be totally overloaded. The velcro outer flap was the worst, though. Totally unnecessary and awkward to hold open while unzipping the compartment beneath it. And the velcro didn't completely line up and attach well when I had anything in that outer compartment.

Trusted travel companion

I have traveled with my Metrosafe 200 for the last 4 years. It has gone extensively throughout the US and a recent 10-day trip to Paris. I have not been pick-pocketed yet and I have been in a lot of crowded and distracting situations. I find that it holds everything I need for a day trip including my REI Hurricane jacket. I have recommended this product and the smaller version to several friends. Comments regarding two reviews previously written: RFID pocket is now a feature with the updated version. Waterproofing is not listed as a feature, so not sure why the bag was rated at one star by a reviewer. Please read features before you purchase. If waterproof material is important to you, then buy something that lists that as a feature and not misrepresent a product through your poor ratings.

No Pick Pockets Here!

This bag served its purpose of keeping stuff safe from the many pickpockets in Europe. Especially in the high traffic tourist areas of Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Rome, etc. People in my group were targets and came close to getting picked. I felt safe with this bag locked and secured over my head and shoulder across my chest carrying the bag in front and holding it. Even still, I kept money and passport in a money belt. The bag is heavy, when loaded with camera, and belongings. It does hold a large iPad, which I liked. Because of the weight the two cables in the shoulder strap felt like they were cutting into my shoulder. I took a nice gel shoulder pad off of a computer shoulder bag from home and used it on this bag. That saved the day! It easily held my iPad, a midsize camera. (about as big as my two small fists put together) and a tiny tiny camera, comb, keys, chapstick, and maps, etc. The two outer side pockets easily held my reading glasses or sunglasses and the other a small bottle of water. Could hold a small umbrella if needed. I am a small woman. For someone larger, or for a man to carry, this may be of no problem size or weight wise. I did feel like the bag and strap was stiff. I wish is was softer, and more flexible. But it certainly served its purpose. It was nice knowing that if someone tried to put their hand into my bag and unzip it, they would encounter the locked device and be unsuccessful in their attempt. Don't be scared to go to Europe. Just be prepared, and you will have a great time.

Love and Definitely Recommend

I traveled to Brazil with a friend and my mom insisted that I take this bag, and I'm very glad I did. I absolutely loved this bag and have been recommending it to everyone. The features of this bag (RFID protection, rip and tear proof, and lockable zippers) put my mind to ease whilst traveling through a foreign country. You don't have to worry about someone opening your bag without your knowledge, as the zippers can be locked into place. Definitely a great buy and would recommend if you are someone who worries about pick pockets or just want some extra ease of mind while traveling.

You will not be a target.

I used my pacsafe throughout Europe and I was relieved i purchase this pacsafe. I witness two people get pickpocketed in Italy and once in Paris. Pick pocketing is rampant and you will have one less worry if you have a pacsafe. There are ample compartments within the bag. I utilized the the ear bud slot all the time. I felt secure with my phone inside when I usually put my phone in my pocket when I lessen to music. I like that no one can slice into the bag with the special mesh. When I was in Paris a witnessed a man pretend to bump into a guy wearing a back pack but what he was really doing was slicing the guy's back pack from underneath and his accomplice has a bag ready to catch all the contents from the back pack. I wore this bag as a sling. I fit so much into this bag. I put a water bottle on the side. My umbrella on the other. Fit my old much larger iPad inside along with my camera, iPhone and other essentials. And there is a pocket specifically for you passport. You don't want anyone taking that.

Good for travel

Used this purse on a recent trip to Disneyland and southern CA and it worked well. It could be a little smaller with a smaller strap. But it is very sturdy, holds water bottles and other items that you need during a day out sightseeing. Plus it will hold an iPad or smaller tablet.
