Comfortable for Hiking or Everyday Wear
I went in intending to buy a low cut hiking shoe but walked out with these instead after trying them on and realizing how comfortable they are. This is the shoe I slip into when I get home from work. They are as comfortable around the house as they are on the trail. Unlike my old pair of sandals, the enclosed toe keeps pebbles from finding their way into the shoe and under my foot. And unlike my old pair of sandals, I wear them almost daily yet haven't detected any odor. No hot spots, no blisters. I haven't worn them on rugged trail yet but I have done some light trail hiking and I was surprised by how solid they felt on gravel and small rocks. The quality of the materials appears to be good but time will tell.
Very nice
I got these when I found out my long time go to shoe the Keen Arroyo had changed and no longer fit well. I had owned more than 6 pair of that shoe, and loved them. These fill the void, but are by no means a hiking shoe. They are fine for a casual 2 mile walk without socks, but I would not push them much further. Still; easy on and off, comfortable, water friendly shoe.
Great sandals, great investment
I bought a pair of these a little over a week ago for a white-water rafting trip and wore them for 8 days straight, 6:30 am until 8:00 pm every day (with the exception of long day hikes up side canyons). All I can say is that they were great and perfect for what I needed. My daytime activities required decent toe protection and good traction on wet surfaces in the rafts and on the river. These sandals provided excellent overall protection for my feet. They had impressive traction on wet surfaces, under water, and even on cobbles that had a thin film of algae. They basically served as great shoes for rafting, short hikes up side canyons, and "chill out" shoes in the evening. They dried up pretty quick and were easy to slip on/off after/before long hikes that needed my hiking boots. The only con that I would give these sandals is that if you have flat feet (like I do), there isn't much arch support and the straps in the center on the insides tended to chaff my arches a little. But this wasn't too much of a problem because my feet got used to the chaffing pretty quick. If you blister easy and have flat feet, I recommend wearing some wool socks with these (wool socks have the added advantage of keeping your feet warm even when wet). I can't say much about their durability as I've only had them for about a week, but they are definitely solidly built.
This is a very good choice.
I have used this sandals in hot conditions in Athens walking all day for hours. It is very comfortable, stable, and well air.My feet were well protected in front and the cashioning was very good.Only in driving it was difficult because its very good grip. Next test will be in canyonig and in the beach.
Keen Foot Power Astounds
I used these for jungle and urban trekking in Cambodia and Thailand. They held up to the mean streets and the thick foliage. Great buy!
Highly recommended
Bought this for a week long scouting camp. Lots of grip and traction in the rain and in slippery terrain. Comfortable.
Great purchase
I have always wanted a pair of keens. But, my problem was that my foot would always slip back. These keens on the other hand have a back heel section that counters that. other that that, they fit the same way other keens fit. Originally, I was going to buy the Keen Arroyo II Sandals but, these have more openings and feel more like sandals. The support is great and I have lots of space for my toes. I manly purchased these so that I can have something to wear around the camp.
Awesome
I wear this sandal most everyday to work or play. They are comfortable. What I like about them is the hard toe cover which protects your toes from banging on rocks and such. Best sandals ever...
Stretch a bit after a few weeks
I wear these as my daily shoes at my casual office job and on the weekends. It's been a month or so and they still look new with essentially no special care despite repeated lake dunkings. They have a bit less arch support than my last pair of no-name outlet sandals, but still decent. Very comfortable and apparently durable overall. I'd like an overall darker style but I'm willing to compromise for functionality.
Can't put my foot in
I have owned a number of Keen shoes and love them. This pair arrived today and sadly, I can't get my foot in. It's not clear in the description that the tongue is fastened to the sides where the laces go. That is, the shoe does not open in the tongue area. As a result, I can't get my foot in the small opening because of my arch. The back area stretches but not enough. I'd like to give a higher rating because I like the design and looks of the shoe, but the description needs to make this small opening clear.
