These are not cute sandals. They are not stylish. They are mom sandals. And they are so outrageously comfortable that I don't care. They're my first pair of action sandals and I'm hooked. Now I get why everyone in Seattle wears ugly sandals all the time. My feet are so happy. I'm going to try some of Teva's other, slightly cuter styles now, too, in hopes of finding something I'm willing to wear in real life and not just traveling or hiking. Oh- and I wear a 9 and am a little wide and these fit well; just barely wide enough for me.

Don't get them wet.

I bought these for a trip to Costa Rica. The first day out we were doing some hiking and repelling through some water. Once they got wet the velcro stopped holding. I think its because how small the velcro strips are but they constantly kept coming undone. By the end of the second day I found an emergency sewing kit and had to sew the velcro together because I couldn't take almost falling every other step when the shoe would nearly come off. Wanted to love these because they were a cute sandal for travel but not worth the headache. Even after they dried I still had problems with the velcro. I returned them as soon as I got home.

Hugely disappointing for Grand Canyon river trip!

These sandals are super cute, but not for the purpose of why I bought them. I did a 17-day Grand Canyon dory trip and these sandals were a big fail. They would not stay on my feet because the velcro at the toe-box was too short, kept getting filled with silty, sand & the sandal kept falling off. On this type of trip, we are often asked to wear our sandals as we are traversing through shallow creeks, then have to scramble up a short rock face and then hike on a trail. These sandals did not fit the bill. I did not feel safe scrambling with them as the front of the sandal just kept opening up.

Love these!

Purchased these to wear around camp, down to the waterfalls, and on short trails because after backpacking I kind of like to kick off the boots and throw on comfy shoes. I am highly impressed by how comfortable these are! Wore them on a short rocky trail, without my chopat strap (I've got patellar tendonitis) and did not have any issues at all. The other day, I did 5mi (not too long a hike) along a dirt/rocky terrain trail that met up with a long gravel roadway to a vista and didn't have any issues with my knee or foot pain. I was highly impressed by how comfortable they were! These may see quite a bit of miles this summer!

Cute, but causes blisters!

I bought these because I heard from other travelers how comfortable and versatile they are. I also thought these were super cute compared to other brands, but when I wore them for a 2 hour flat hike they cut up my ankles like crazy! My ankles didn’t heal for weeks and it left scars. I wanted to see if wearing the ankle straps looser would help so I tried them out on a shorter hike recently. My right foot was fine, but my left ankle again got a blister. In the picture you can see exactly where the shoe was digging into my heel from the blood on the strap.

You want shoes that last?? These are IT!

It took me over 3 years of hiking through mud, dirt and rock, showering at state parks, kayaking, bicycling, mowing the lawn, etc., for me to finally destroy these. If REI still had the same return policy, I'd be embarrassed to bring these in to exchange. I truly put them through the wringer and I was really surprised at how well they lasted. They finally gave when I got snagged on some underwater debris when I rolled my kayak in some fast-moving water last weekend. I may just Gorilla Glue them and use them for mowing the lawn! Worth the money, EVERY SINGLE PENNY... I bought another brand that was similar earlier this summer, and the soles are already worn out. You get what you pay for!

Comfortable enough to hike in!

Got two pairs, one for daily use and hiking, the other for an upcoming trip to Italy. Wanted to try them on the trail to see how they protected against uneven surfaces, as the cobblestones in Italy can really make your feet ache. These sandals were GREAT on the rocky trail! I've never hiked in sandals and was a little dubious about how they would fare, but they were awesome! I will hike in these again and again and am so relieved to have found a great pair of shoes for Italy. The best feature is the cushion under the heel - supportive but soft and really comfortable.

Wonderful Everyday/Work Sandals :)

I finally decided to invest in a comfortable pair of sandals for work and have never made a better investment! I work outdoors, taking children on tours. I have to walk backwards while I lead the tours and these shoes keep my feet securely in place while allowing the comfort I need in order for me to walk around for 5-6 hours a day. The only negative thing that I have to say about these sandals is that for the first week that I wore them, I got blisters on the sides of my ankles where the straps rubbed and one on my pinky toe. All and all though, the week that I had blisters was worth the months of comfortable wear I have had so far.

Teva Tirra Did Not Hold Up

Into the second summer season wearing my Teva Tirra and the straps have separated from the sole and the logo has peeled off. The soles are also slippery when walking on rocky river and lake bottoms. I had a cheaper brand of sandals which had better grip and lasted longer. Disappointment!

Amazing!

I bought these for a study abroad to China this last August. I don't have any arches in my feet, so I loved the fact that these had anatomic footbeds! I purchased a 7.5 online and they fit beautifully. I have to add more velcro to the front velcro strap, because the front of my foot is narrow. But other than that they are amazing. In the China heat and humidity, the bottom of my feet got a little sticky. But most of the time they were airy, cool, and comfy!

Watch that heal cushion

Loved the shoe very comfortable and adjustable Had the sales rep helping me and she recommended these because they had this extra heal cushion I tried them on and worn them out of the store but it wasn't long before I realized that heal cushion was rubbing against my heal so much on my left foot that I was in pain When I switched back to my other shoes my heal was still bothering me for about a day I liked them so much I decided to return these and ordered a new pair in hopes that it was just a defect in this pair of shoes I'm waiting on the new pair I will update this review after I try them out But as of right now I recommend staying away from the ones with the extra heal cushion
