BEST TRAVEL BAG EVER

I took this bag on a 10-day trip to Italy, and it exceeded all my expectations. With an average of 25-30k steps each day, the bag remained incredibly comfortable throughout. One day, I carried two bottles of wine and a quilt around Capri with ease; on another, I transported five bottles of wine from Ischia to Sorrento without a hitch. The clam shell design was a game-changer—when I nearly got pickpocketed in Rome, the thief couldn’t get into the bag, thanks to how I secured the zippers. Initially, I was concerned the bag might be too big, but when it came time to pack souvenirs and wine, the extra space was a lifesaver. I even used it as my carry-on in the airport, and it held everything I needed with room to spare. This bag was, without a doubt, the best travel companion I could have asked for.

Finally found what I was looking for

This is my third camera-style backpack and this one checks all the boxes. I just traveled with it for the first time, to shoot a wedding (both photo and video), and it was a dream to take on the plane. • I wanted something that could fit all my gear when I have fly dates ✅ • I wanted it to fit underneath the airplane seat ✅ • I wanted it to fit on my carry-on roller bag easily ✅ • I needed it to fit a 16" MacBook Pro ✅ Here is all the gear I fit in the 30L travel backpack: medium camera cube, small camera cube, Sony a7IV, Sony FX3 w/ top handle, Sony - 16-35, 50 1.2, 24-105, 70-200 GMII, filters, batteries, rode wireless + camera mic, lens caps, straps, 16" MacBook Pro + charger, and one bag on M&M's.

Nice travel bag, but some nits...

I've used this bag for 2-3 day trips, and even bought the small camera cube and optional hip belt. It is very well thought out, and stows under normal airliner seats, mostly. I like the shoulder straps a lot as well. Adding a small camera cube, and I can still use it for an overnight trip. Frankly, I could probably go five days without the cube. I'm not, however a big fan of the sternum strap and the optional hip belt. Both will work once they are connected, but the non-standard connector means I have to actively look at them to buckle them up. I'm assuming Peak went with their design to make them easier to stow, but there is a useability hit.

Well made but ......

I bought this to see if I could do without my wheel on small suitcase. Sadly for me it has some design deficiency's. Biggest problem is no front opening zip pocket for easy access to travel documents when on the move. Inside the zip up side pouches are too small for small items like boxes of medicines to safely stow them into. A combination of the toiletries and small photo cube take up over half the space of the 30 litre leaving just enough for limited overnight wear. The side water bottle pockets are very tight even for a small plastic bottle of water. That said its well made and quite comfortable to wear with a 9kg load on board.

My cats love it!

My cats will give a 10 stars review. It's perfect cat bed, they love it and sleep on it every single day. Good that I have both 45L and 30L version so I can switch out when I need one as backpack. As a backpack, it has great features and I enjoy using it while traveling. I find it a tad too heavy for this size category though and the shoulders straps are not that comfortable. I hope there will be an updated version with lighter material and improved shoulders starps, then my cats won't need to share their bed with me when I travel. Oh and this cat bed (backpack?) is fur collector (but it is not too hard to clean the fur from it).

Nice bag, but Peak Design left out some things

This bag is alright. I own two of the 45L bags and i just love them. I was just looking for something a little smaller for shorter trips. Comfort is normal, nothing too exciting. Nice looking bag. BUT, left out the side access and the better design features of the 45L. Traveling with this bag not so great, when you have to access something mid-flight or on the street. For the price i would have expected all the great design ideas of the 45L. I would recommend you just spend the extra cash and go with the 45L for better on the go accessibility. In the end i just went back to using the 45L and gave the 30L to my friend.

Fantastic Travel Pack

I have been searching for the perfect business/pleasure travel backpack for years. For the last several years I have been using a 28l PacSafe which has held up very, very well, but it is only a top loading bag and was too small for 2-3 day overnights packing a computer, charger, shoes and clothes. So far, the PD 30l seems to be the one. Clamshell opening, easy access, not too many straps and pockets, the shoulder strap system is fantastic and I love the expansion zipper. I looked for a long time, tried all of the bigger brands, Patagonia and the like, and settled on this bag. Looking forward to many years of use.

I'm in love - even after 6weeks in Europe

I brought just this backpack to Europe for 6weeks and I'm never traveling without it again. Pockets for every accessory. Expandable when I wanted to fit gifts for family. Rugged with the waist attachment to do 100 miles around Mont Blanc. Looking cool in stylish cities like Copenhagen. I paired the pack with the large clothes compression bag and the waist belt. I love lay flat opening. The zippers are strong and reliable. The rotating shoulder straps are useful when stowing the bag at a hostel, airplane or car. I always get compliments. As an engineer and designer myself I really appreciate the attention to detail and elegant execution of this bag. I highly recommend.

great bag BUT

+ fits under most airplane seats + generally comfortable for long carry but straps are a bit narrow for the weight you can load - clamshell opening means there's only 1 zip to unfold whole bag AND to get your laptop. my laptop fell out and got dented - internal zipper pockets can generally only be reached when unzipping whole bag. - when on a plane, lack of internal organization makes it a little harder to use under-seat. e.g. you put your ziploc of travel liquids at the top. it has to come out to get anything underneath it like a steamdeck or nintendo switch - little large for every day work commuting

Made Euro Travel a breeze

I recently returned from an 8 Day trip to Europe. I was highly satisfied with the Travel Backpack my onebag for the trip . The back has many carry options, with multiple handle locations and stow-able straps. I found that the Bag fir just fine underneath the seat all Aircraft that a flew on (Embraer 195, 175; Boeing 737-800,; Airbus A330, A321). I used Eagle Creek packing cubes with this bag as well. (1) Med. Pack-It Garment Folder Packing Organizer and (2) Pack-It Garment Folder Packing Organizer. I did not have a Laptop on this trip. Simply used my mobile for all my internet needs. I really feel that this bag played a big part in the success of the trip. being able to get right of the plane or train and onto local mass transit, was liberating for sure. I think that 8 Days may be on the limit for this Bag, however, it really did an impressive job!
