Almost perfect l
I've worn this jacket from November 2022, all through winter as a midlayer down to -20, as a nice puffy outer during the spring, and as a nighttime summer hoodie during this chilly Alaskan summer. This thing is sooo comfortable. It honestly feels better than a lot of down jackets I have. On that note, this is easily warmer than my other brand expensive SL down jacket for about half the price, synthetic and only a bit heavier. That's all a win for the super strand in my book. The cons are, within a few hours of taking it out and wearing it in the house, there were two holes in the right forearm.Later, the next day I foind a tear in one of the drop pockets. I have also had a good bit of filling coming out of the stiching. Only other note is they could take some material out of the middle and make it a bit more trim to layer over. I really still love this jacket and the 12D outer (I believe it is) should hold up better tha. Some of the 7D material I've used. OutdoorResearch please make this near perfect midlayer more perfect!
Great jacket!
I love this jacket for its warmth and that it is light weight. It packs down super easy as well. I went with a men’s jacket due to wanting a looser fit to be able to layer more when needed. I like that the pockets have zippers to keep whatever I put in there secure.

Great Product
Got this earlier this year and have been testing it throughout. PROS - Extremely lightweight + packable - Very stylish - Super comfy - Fits very well - Great for low, but not freezing temps (I wear this as a solo mid-layer up to 35Âş, wouldn't push it further than that) - Great zippers CONS - Not too warm (provides some warmth, but not too much. If needing serious warmth, I take my down puffy) - Wears quickly, not too durable (I wouldn't expect this to last for more than a few seasons) Overall, I'm a really big fan of this jacket and will be certainly getting another, although it does have specific use cases (as does every piece of gear). Well done, OR! *Tips cap*
Ultra lite mid layer
This is an extremely light weight and warm mid layer. I am in upstate New York. It is wet and cold often. I am also frequently out in the worst of it. I have worn almost everything you can name. The design of this keeps the down insulation in place. I would imagine this is one of the things that makes it so effective. I combine this with a light weight merino wool or synthetic base layer and the Outdoor Research shell, can`t remember which one I have bit they all work. I have been in some pretty extreme temps with this combo and been quite comfortable. Highly recommend. It runs just a little large. If you are on the edge of a size I would likely drop down to the lower size.

Microtrash nightmare
I noticed some pilling and tried to remove it. When I did, I noticed these thin strands, almost like spiderwebs (the namesake superstrand?) Attached to the pilling. On closer inspection I found these strands leaking out of multiple seams, not just pilled areas. Crazy to think I've probably been leaving a trail of small plastic trash all over my trails for the last 2-3 months. Can't believe this got through quality testing from an apparently eco-conscious company.
I love this jacket, but...
I love this jacket and wear it every day. I have never had synthetic stuffing working its way out of the seams and quilt stitching like I do with this jacket. It is an awful lot like a down jacket that has feathers working their way out only these seem to be long hair-like streamers. Makes me wonder how long the jacket will last. One other nit is that their doesn't seem to be any DWR, so I still need to wear a shell when it's damp out. While I still stay warm, dry would be nice, as well. Other than that, like I said, I wear this almost daily as a hoody instead of my sweatshirts. Works best with form-fitting layers underneath rather than bulky layers. Fits well under a shell.
Zipper failed after a week
Unfortunately the zipper failed after a week. Could've been just a fluke. The real let down and reason for the single star was Warranty service. Filed the claim and waited 6 weeks for a response. When filling the claim it actually tells you this is normal. Got the claim filled, had to pay out of pocket to ship back. Then waited another two months to get money put in my outdoor research account to reorder. The entire process took 3.5 months and I am still waiting on my new jacket to show up (shows "order processing") I can be ok with something having an issue but at this price point, Warranty and service is typically expected to be better. I won't order any more items from OR.
Excellent warmth/weight ratio, and surprisingly good packability for a synthetic jacket. Thus far I've only used it in moderate conditions down to about 40F and 15 mph winds, but it's kept me quite cozy. Curious to see how it handles colder weather and precipitation. Internal pockets are nice and large, though would be nice if at least one of them had a zipper (or if there were a zippered chest pocket) - I pretty much always keep gloves in the external zippered pockets of my jackets (easiest to access while paragliding), so other items that "live in" the jacket (a small sunscreen and chapstick usually) need another secure location, which these internal pockets don't provide.

Stoked!!!
Bought this to replace my Arc'teryx Atom LT that mysteriously went missing...yes, a sad day. While the bar was set incredibly high, I had high hopes this jacket would be a worthy replacement. Pleased to say it has exceeded expectations. It's incredibly lightweight considering the punch it delivers insulation-wise, and I find it's a jacket I end up grabbing 90% of the time when going out. The one gripe I have is the synthetic insulation seems to make its way out from time to time, leaving long strands of polyester in need of pulling. This is a trivial matter in the grand scheme of things. Highly recommend!

Bad fit. Too big in the waist and midsection.
I'm male, 6' tall with an average to athletic fit build. 165lbs. I got the large. It's almost too tight in the arms when I reach forward, it binds in the back. Yet the midsection is too bulky. I can grab at least 4 inches out of the midsection before it's the correct fit. To me, this is a company catering to larger people.. Hey, if you're larger in the midsection, buy this jacket. But for me it's a disappointment. This shows me where the priorities of a company are. It's billowy enough I won't be wearing it on it's own in public. It should serve as a good midlayer despite my complaints. This is the second garmet from OR I've purchase with a bad fit. I won't be buying any more.
