CONS at the bottom. Most of the reviews here, even the positive ones, I think are missing a bit of more nuance.. these underwear definitely lift the bar of underwear from clothing to a proper set of gear that I know consider an essential part of my kit. (having been plenty glad to go commando in the past, I now go out of my way to hike exclusively in these SAXX) Also I got these not having researched beforehand, so I dont think my review is biased. First the pros: Most comfortable pair of underwear I have ever worn, and I have worn very overpriced silk handmaid etc etc blah blah stuff. Very comfortable in sweaty situations. ballsack thing is no false gimmick. it works. mesh fabric moisture wicking etc stuff, is also true it works. so far every thing ive read that it claims has been true. wore them for 3 days straight, 36 mile hike, Smokie mountain summer. lows of 40s to highs of 80s. no issues. the ball sack thingy, is fantastic. I have not had to unstick my balls from my legs in the 240+ combined hours I have worn these. zero chafing. I suffer from chaffing even in the best most controlled situations. I had zero chaffing on the affore mentioned hike and more later CONS: only 2: more expensive than other typical underwear. however is more than worth the price. Key word being expensive NOT overpriced. other con was the tight waistband.(plz read whole thing) HOWEVER that was only initially. Most reviewers listing cons list this one as a main one and mention that you should get a size up from normal. I DO NOT believe this is the best move. I think these underwear are unusual in that they have a breaking in period... which I have never seen in any other underwear so I think it caught us all by surprise. I typically wear a medium and got a medium (30-32in). I also experienced tightness the first 2-3 days. however ive worn that same pair since and have had no issues since and have not lost significant weight. Like I said before, I think they just needed to be broken in. Highly recommend. will be getting more

TERRIBLE!!

I was looking to try new boxer briefs that were more comfortable and more moisture wicking than my current ones. I used a coupon to give these a try and was VERY DISAPPOINTED! They literally started falling apart the 1st time I wore them. Even more when washed on delicate. I got about 4 wears out of them before they had all but fell apart. At the price point I thought I was going to get something at least decent quality. I would not recommend- there are other options out there. I strongly suggest you try another brand.

Finished a ten mile hike unscathed

My wife and I do a weekly ten mile urban hike, and I always end up with something scraped/chafed/angry. I decided to upgrade shorts to see if that problem would go away, and I'm happy to report that these solved the problem. It's worth the extra money to not get chafed. No opinions yet on long term durability or hot weather operation, but for a ten mile hike in 40-degree weather, so far so good. I wore DUER No-Sweat relaxed fit tapered pants, and they were also great. As to the size remarks, I grabbed the box in the store with the XL label, as that is the size that I usually wear. I later noticed the size guide on the back of the box that suggested that these would be too large for me. XL fit well. I would say to ignore the inch guidance and go with the S-M-L-XL label.

The chafing runner’s summertime solution

I can’t believe I waited so long to try Saxx, I couldn’t be more pleased. For TMI context, I’m a long-distance runner (marathon +) and I’ve basically come to accept that chafe-misery is just part of the deal, after many years and of running and trying potential solutions. So far, I’ve posted 3 20+ mile runs with these and have been 100% chafe free. The future is bright...

High hopes but not for me

Finding comfy underwear has become like looking for the holy grail…the Monty Python version. I’ve heard good things about SAXX so I gave the Hot Shots a try. - very expensive - great fabric concept but too rough. After an easy six mile walk on a moderately humid and warm east coast day, I have blister hotspots where there should be none, mostly at the seams. - very tight fit at the crotch, even though I sized up to an XL - bunches up like much less expensive brands. + the giggly bits pouch is comfortable + the fabric design, while rough, breaths extremely well. +/- comfy enough for sitting around the office or working around the house. I’m an active 5’9 220lb involved in multiple outdoor activities. These might work for climbing and biking but not hiking or running. At this price point, these are not for me.

Incredible in the heat!!

These are a game changer in hot weather. I'm in Phoenix and have been looking for breathable underwear for over a decade. The dividers (or whatever they're called) Keeps things from sticking to your legs (=heat+sweat+no breathing). Bought my first pair (M) a month ago then tried large and just ordered two more pair of large. I hope they don't drop these. I tried Smartwool underwear, I used to wear wool dress pants and when thin they are actually way cooler and breathable than a pair of jeans. I hoped Smartwood/Icebreaker underwear would be the same but just too toasty. These things breathe great and they don't have a massive constrictive waistband like many. Just enough. I want to see how they'll work as breathable/driable underwear under shorts when I want to get in the water but not have to change into swim trunks.

Disappointed in quality

Was looking for a comfortable pair of boxer briefs that didn't ride up my thighs. Not only did it fail with that task, but the waistband began to break down after the 2nd wear (only worn for a total of 2 days). For $38, this is not acceptable. No idea why the "sling" crotch would be necessary...

perfect for workouts

these were a lifesaver! i'm sure i'm speaking for all men with larger "kiwis" that finding the right underwear is impossible, but these were the first pair where everything was held in place and I didn't need to worry about my junk bouncing around my gym shorts.

a rare miss for Saxx

Bought these as I love the Quest for hiking and must say these are a much tighter fit. They tend to creep up throughout the day and aren’t as soft as other skus. They can be okay in a pinch but I never reach for them when I need a comfy, supportive pair for camping/hiking
