Ordered these shoes having already owned multiple pairs of the previous Vaporfly 3, my previous favourite shoe. The Vaporfly 4 exceeded my expectations in every way. Faster, more comfortable and more stable. It’s also appears to be more solidly built than the previous generation which did wear quickly. First run and I shaved 30 secs per KM of my previous fastest 10k! 30! Do yourself a favour and buy these shoes :)
Awesome shoe! Super fast and aggressive. The fit is true to size and I was able to get a very secure fit with a heel lock lace tie. Seems like a true sequel to the Vaporfly 2 (and OG Vaporfly) vs the Vaporfly 3. Maybe not as “squishy” as the Alphafly 3, but folks who need the added stability might find that a positive! Overall amazing super shoe!
Hopefully they have improved durability. I have owned threes pairs of vaporflys, all my prs have come in them, but they only last 100 to 200 miles before the heel comes apart. It’s also frustrating there is no warranty at the price point. I can’t afford to keep replacing them.
First pair of Vaporflies and I must say these are super light and very responsive. Not as bouncy as Alphaflies but suit my foot strike more. They want you to run fast and will be my preferred show for anything up to 1/2 marathons.
I recently used these shoes at the Big Sur International Marathon. This course has it all it rained the majority of the race, so I had wet roads, a lot of big up and down hills, and also a long section of the road where the road angled off steeply to one side. I have been a VF3 runner the past season. These shoes were even better the VF4s will be my go-to marathon race shoe for the rest of the season!
Super fast shoe, very light, great return, not a lot of size difference between the 9 and 9.5, so kept the larger as the 9 felt like it was breaking me on the stride, love the upper but needs lace locking for a snug fit, sent it on the mile, felt great think this is going to be a great race shoe, for reference I'm 5.6 and 14+ stone running 6 min mile, 43,10k , 330 marathon, so no skinny minnie.
So let me start off I love Nike running shoes since I was a kid. I love to go on weighted and normal long distance runs. The predecessors to these were awesome. These are spongy and responsive and a great running shoe. That’s where it ends. The tread on these shoes will vanish before your eyes after the first run. The longevity of these shoes is apparent that based on the price aren’t worth and don’t translate as quality running shoes for such a high price. I don’t know if these were in the rushed line to beat the tariffs but the quality of the sole is god awful. Use a different shoe for outside and stick to the treadmill with these to get the miles out of them. If not the road alone with designate the sole to nothing in just a few runs. I wouldn’t trust what other chapGPT reviews that were put up here. Again I love Nike running shoes but lately their quality sucks for the price they are asking.
Whoever decided they should put a sticker on the insole where your heel hits should be fired. Otherwise these are more similar to the original 4% and next %s in feel. Less bouncy but lighter so I can get better turnover. But seriously never put a sticker on the insole again.
Love the lightness, snappy toe-off and overall comfort. In short, the shoes are fast and fun. Didn't notice any trade-offs in comfort with the lower drop. The upper is amazing with a great lockdown. Running at sub 7min/mile pace is so much fun! Great job Nike.
overall not a bad running shoe, light weight and good cushioning. The quality and finish looks and feels very cheap not the normal quality I'd expect from Nike. Overall better shoes on the market for the money!
