Very happy with this purchase! Jacket is warm, light weight, packs small, and fits me well. Would've liked a slightly more water resistant DWR finish on the outside though, which is why I went with 4 stars. Only bummer is that our new puppy ripped a hole in the sleeve within 2 weeks of owning it! No worries tho - threw a Gear Aid Tenacious Tape patch on there and all is good!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sadly, my sons apartment recently burned down and with it a lifetime of Marmot gear I gifted him burned (or melted) to a crisp. This included clothing, a tent, gloves, ski pants, and many jackets. The Highlander hoody is the first of many pieces of Marmot gear that will need to be replaced. The jacket is beautiful. It is a perfect starting point for our gear replacement project. It provides ample “down puffy” warmth with convenient packability. It also looks great for a pint of ale while out on the town. Super color too.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very thoughtfully designed and well made jacket. The hood provides neck hugging warmth without too much bulk when fully zipped without using it over your head. The fit is pretty slim. I am 6'1", 190lbs, and the large is a nice athletic fit. I wouldnt go any smaller. I would recommend this if weight to warmth ratio is important, however, the sacrifice for the light weight is duarbility. I love the fabric.
I ordered this for my 14 year old grandson. He dislikes wearing a coat but living in Upstate NY the winters are cold and requires something more than a hoodie. He loves the jacket and wears it layered with his hoodie. He especially likes that the Marmot label is so discreet as he doesn’t like to flash labels. The small size was perfect with a little room to grow. Very happy with this purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very light and very warm jacket with a hood that is quilted with down just like the body of the jacket! (I hate jackets that have hoods that are not insulated like the rest of the jacket). I got this black jacket (size small) and it fits well. There is a chest pocket for your wallet. I love it. I purchased it on sale and I feel like I cheated someone because it's worth a thousand bucks.
This is a great coat for an outer layer is cold weather if you are doing aerobic activity or under a shell for skiing etc. All three pockets are deep but hold phone, keys, and the like without a lot of movement. The material is a lightweight rip stop favoring breathability. If you are looking for a durable coat for wet weather this is not for you.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Boxy and somewhat loose like Patagonia’s Down Sweater, but warmer with a higher loft. Haven’t had a chance to test the DWR finish or the longevity, but my initial impressions have met or exceeded my expectations. Warm and handsome, just keep the new kitty away from the thin nylon shell! I’m 6’ tall and weigh 180. Medium fits perfectly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not only is this an amazing product, but Marmots customer service is unmatched! We had a factory issue with the item and even though the tags were off and it had already been worn by my husband, Marmot was incredibly helpful and let me replace the item with no charge. This jacket is warm, comfortable, lightweight, and looks great.
I like the jacket but it's not nearly as warm as other down jackets I have. I only wear it when it's cool, not cold. It looks great, but it runs a size big. I ordered a medium like I usually wear and it was much too baggy. Because of the sizing, I had to return and order a small instead... kind of a pain.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I saw this jacket in one of my students, and I decided to buy one for me , I didn’t make a mistake, what a jacket, I love it, it’s incredible light, comfortable , super warm , it looks great and great price, immediately I bought another for me in different color, and another for my son
