Since I got these shoes, I've worn them once for a 9-mile hike and here are my initial thoughts: 1) I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear, which worked for the length, but they run narrower than I anticipated. 2) There is a seam on the inside where the shoe tongue connects to the shoe, and it rubbed uncomfortably the entire hike. I didn't end up with a blister, but one was on the way. 3) The back of the shoe gave me an uncomfortable blister on my heel, which I'm hoping will callous over soon. Otherwise, they look good and had good traction. I'm hoping I can break them in more so that I can wear them for an upcoming hiking trip.
Shoe fits and feels fine. But I ordered the blue color and they sent me a purple. Then I found out that they still had the shoe in blue and the price had dropped $10 since I ordered it 2 weeks ago. It's too much of a hassle to drive back and re-order.
I've had Vasque hiking shoes & boots in the past and liked them. I generally don't like waterproof shoes except for winter hiking. Got these at a fair price and decided to give them a try. After putting around 20 trail miles on them I am pleasantly happy with them. They offer comfortable firm support and good grip. With lightweight wool socks my feet didn't get hot or overly sweaty. Thats hiking in mid 80°F dry weather. The toe box is wide enough and comfortable. No blasters or hot spots. They seem to vent ok but would not want to watercross and hike with them. Thats just based on my unfavorable past experience with waterproof shoes in wet conditions. Overall I like this shoe and am glad with the purchase. No negative comments at this time.
Definitely a very sturdy shoe, probably a bit over engineered for what I use it for (mostly taking walks around town). Not as comfortable as I'd like it to be, but neither is it actively uncomfortable - just that wearing them for hours becomes unpleasant.
I bought these shoes for my husband because I considered them absolutely beautiful - great color combinations. I also respect the Vasque brand, which I consider one of the best; and they are GTX, which we consider a "must" for variable hiking conditions. Best of all, my husband likes them. They are very comfortable and true to size.
These shoes have some new design features like an inner collar around the shoe opening to presumably help keep debris out. Seems to work ok but we'll see how well it holds up to daily on/off use. Also the tread design is not as aggressive as most hiking shoes and again we'll see how it wears.
Great looking quality built shoe. Purchased on clearance. Wish they had more in a smaller size. I ordered my regular size for most other brands. This brand was too big. Writing review to let others know they should consider ordering 1/2 size smaller than they usually would.
Too big. I generally wear 11 to 11.5 in Brooks, ASICS, New Balance, Altras, Saucony. These were much larger. 11.5 we’re waaaay too big. Liked the look of them though, didn’t keep them long enough to know on durability.
Great lite hikers. Very comfortable, just the right amount of cushion, grippy soles, secure and true to size fit
