So ive just received a pair of these today and on first inspection look good .I have a pair of ultra 4s and ultra 3s all brand new so thought I'd do a direct comparison .the 3s are narrowest both in toe and heel and have the deepest foot bed and least flex in the sole . The 4s and 360 have the same depth of sole and fall from heal to toe similar flex .the main diffence is in the width the 360 is much wider across both heel and toe and its upper is definitely softer in its materials (also thinner ) but had better padding around the heal and ankle . The 360 feels very comfortable out the box and feels a true size .sole is different to the 4s mabe harder ? But definitely wider . I like it so far .
this is the 2nd of my X Ultra Mid Gortex, I have walked the Camino de Santiago (500 miles) and hiked 100's of miles across the US in rain sleet and snow, they have never let me down and Solomon stands behind their equipment.
Love my pair until after a few wears the top lace lock hook popped out from its stitching. Contacted Salomon’s support and they took care of it. Love the brand especially ones that stand behind their product
Really disappointed, had many pairs of Salomon shoes but these are not waterproof at all. Soaking wet socks whenever it’s raining or even wet ground.

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you can't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and don't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. Excellent boots for summer to fall hiking that will last.
I purchased a pair of these boots November 2024 , they were used very sparingly until February 2025 , mostly on pavements and rarely in the rain. My first walk in the rain upon wet grass in February 2025 which lasted less than an hour resulted in wet feet . The retailer Cotswolds outdoors swooped them for an identical pair on 11th February. Once again they have been sparingly used , until today when I walked in the rain on wet grass the second pair have let more water in than the original pair. I intend to return them to the retailer tomorrow and get a full refund. What is really annoying is that these boots are so comfortable , however absolutely useless in the wet . I feel very let down , your advertising clearly states these boots are waterproof.
Comfortable but, a lot hotter in the summer than I was expecting. Not recommended if your feet run hot. Water proofing was pretty good but not great worked for snow and some light creek crossings but not so good in a inch or two of water. They have been really durable though, I have worn them everyday for the last 18 months just about and they are just now starting to break down externally and the gor-tex liner. Starting to lose comfort because the insoles are worn out.

We appreciate your honest assessment of the breathability in summer conditions and the waterproofing performance in different scenarios. It's helpful for other customers to understand how these perform across various conditions and seasons. It sounds like you've gotten excellent durability from this pair with daily use over 18 months. As the insoles wear out, you might consider replacing them to restore some of the original comfort while you decide on your next pair.
I’ve worn Salomon boots for years. Since they dont have the older model x ultra mid boots. I decided to try these ones out. They look nice and seem to have all the features from the previous model. However, they have an uncomfortable pressure point located on the inside middle part of both boots. Which makes it uncomfortable to wear as soon as you wear them. Hoping breaking them in after wearing them over time will fix this problem.
These have to be the worst boots I’ve ever bought. They’re comfortable enough, no issue there. I have two other pair, the X360 CSWP, and they’re fantastic. But the Gore-Tex are horribly noisy. Embarrassingly so. I can’t wear them in public without crazy looks from people. They just feel cheap. I thought they might wear in and quiet down. No luck. Disappointing.
I like these shoes - especially after I replaced the insoles. They are relatively comfortable and seem well made. My main gripe is that they are very weak on the mid foot support. Due to the structure of my leg, one of my ankles tends to over pronate a bit. These shoes do nothing to support my ankle, they may even encourage over pronation.
