Bomb Proof Jacket

I bought this jacket last week and used it on a snowboard trip to Breckenridge during a winter storm with temps in the low teens and negative windchill. It was dumping all weekend. I paired this jacket with the Rush bibs and hit the slopes all weekend long. I stayed warm and comfortable despite the weather. All I had was a Rho LT zip and light fleece underneath. Last season I wore a Black Diamond jacket and bibs and Burton AK the year before. This jacket and pairing beats them all. It is a little roomier than some of Arcteyx’s climbing/mountaineering jackets so stick to your normal size or size down for a more snug fit.

Sabre SV Bordeaux/Turbo AC doesn't match the pants

I just went into my local store to pickup an online purchase of the Sabre SV Bordeaux/Turbo AC colorway with the matching Sabre pants. Issue was that the pink on the Sabre SV doesn't match the pink on the Sabre pant (Peach vs bubble gum hue). The regular Sabre jacket is the perfect match. I was so disappointed :(

Just perfect

Brought this jacket as had all the features on my list - ski orientated, waterproof, windproof, breathable, lightweight, slim fit but slightly oversized, powder skirt, lift pass pocket and being a shell. Haven't taken it skiing yet but wore it round Christmas at Kew during a storm. So dry and warm, with my down mid layer I felt like I was in wrapped up in my duvet in bed all night. Can't stop looking at myself in the mirror, looks so good especially in Rune. Gets comments from strangers as well as many friends. If you're tall and slim, I'm 6' 2", and like to wear clothes with a relaxed fit then a large will be perfect. Can't wait to take it on the slopes!

Bombproof jacket, weird sizing

Bought this, a Rush, and an Alpha SV to see what I preferred. The Rush Medium fit a bit better than the Sabre SV Small, but I wanted the powder skirt and heavier materials, so I went with this. As others have mentioned, this thing is bombproof. I've tomahawk'd into some chest deep stuff a few times already and absolutely nothing is getting through. My only complaint is the sizing is definitely weird. I am 5'10" 175lb and originally ordered a Medium, which is my normal size for everything else (including Arc'teryx), but I was swimming in it. The Small fits me better on the midsection but is a hair tight on my chest. Definitely size down if you are in between.

Way Too Baggy and Long

I own several Arc'teryx shell jackets in XS and they all fit me like a glove. However, I'm swimming in this jake: it's very baggy even with four layers on (including a Cerium down jacket), the sleeves reach close to the tip of my fingers, while the powder skirt stretches to my thighs leaving plenty of room for snow to get in . Like other reviewers, I double-checked whether I was delivered the right size, but it was indeed an XS. As this is the smallest size the jacket comes in, I'll have to return it. It's a shame really, since the materials and the design is great and it would've made a great jacket otherwise.

Exactly what I needed

The only downside to this jacket is a missing waist string to fit it a tiny bit better. Other than that, fantastic. Hiked about 6h through pouring rain that turned into slush and later to snow. Completely dry and wind proof. Can’t wait to bring it up to higher elevation than just 2.5k

Another great item from Arcteryx

This is a great jacket! The goretex pro will come in hand on the biggest of storm days, especially if they come in warm. The latest goretex shell jackets are thin and superlight weight which is great, but I have some longevity concerns that will only get resolved over time. All other gear I have had from Arcteryx has stood up to the test of time. The fit is the only thing that was really surprise ... the Sabre SV is very large and long. I am 6'0" and 205-210lbs and the jacket is massive on me. I don't think I would want to go down a size for my own style, but be warned.

The perfect Jacket

Super high quality coat that looks amazing. Runs big so don’t try to oversize for baggy steezy. I’m glazing cuz it’s really that good, there’s nothing I would chance about this coat.

Great jacket

I both this a few weeks ago and it´s a really nice looking jacket. Works best for the slops, because of it´s long fit. Breathable and feels good on.

Delamination

ARC TERYX a name that instills fear for rain , wind and snow …… I own 3 men’s outer shells for various activities not all 3 shells are over worked but are well used. One shell is showing delamination or deformed properties . Still 100 % weatherproof to the elements so far but I wonder still how long before it delaminates to the point of non servicable. I always have a back up shell but it’s only been 3 years of moderate use and I see potential flaws already . I’m not one for appearance in gear as long as it works but the quality control to me is questionable. I’ve owned a 3 layer Gore Tex jacket ( another brand selling gore Tex ) over 30 years ago with no signs of deterioration like I’m experiencing from ARC TERYX store brand.
