Many good features but shape and size are unusual. Needed winter running shoes, these are thicker, gore tex and reflective for early dark, all great features. Arch support and cushioning are minimal, thought there would be more. I am a size 8 in every shoe and sneaker brand, including Merrell. Ordered 8s but they are very wide in the shoe and toe box, and very short. Was prepared to return them but did a few runs and think they stretched out just enough to keep them. 8.5 will be too big in the rest of the foot, but my toes are up against the front, not good for anything beyond a 5 mile run. Keeping them for now but for size 8 they are very short.
I read the other reviews and decided to give these a try for winter running in the city (snow/ice/slush/dry pavement). I wear an 8 and found them to be a true 8. A bit smaller length wise but a nice wide toe box. These are fantastic for the in between when it’s icy/slushy out but sections are dry pavement. They have great stability, help make me visible at night and keep me upright on the icy patches. I think the giant Gore-Tex name on the inside of the shoes is overkill but I’m willing to overlook that for the comfort and traction. Would buy again!
I was looking for a replacement everyday sneaker (walking, running, crosstraining) and purchased a number of Merrell shoes to try. This had decent arch support and cushioning (my top two requirements when searching for a new shoe); however, I also purchased the Agility Peak 5 and the cushioning in the Morphlite couldn't compare. So I returned these and kept the Agility Peak 5. These were decent comfort-wise, and they may work for you, but I was looking for a bit more.
Love my morphlites! Comfortable and lightweight. I now own two pairs.
