taking points off because of extremely weak magnet

everything else except the magnet is perfect. the grip of the teeth, the tight hold of the spring, it is even very ergonomic and easy to use single-handedly. where it falls short, excruciatingly short, is the magnetic base. there is only one magnet right below the teeth plate of the base. the magnet does not cover the entire base plate and is also very weak, so weak that is cannot effectively handle the weight of a barebone Hero9 when magnetically attached to a solid, non-moving surface. In fact, I once stuck it to the fridge door with a gopro mounted on it and the clip fell after a few regular opening and closing of the door

Six Stars

For me this is a great accessories, its use is endless. I've used it in so many ways. Now when I have my GoPro with me I clip it to my belt, waste band etc. I lost a GoPro that slipped out of my pocket while visiting the outer Banks. I had my info on it and an honest person returned it. With the clip its secure. I've clipped to my jeans using it as a body cam while flying my Drone. The clip also makes a convent stand. What you can clip it to is endless. just to name a few your cars AC vent, sun-visor, ball cap, And with the magnet I've attached to to my car's hood, file cabinet, anything metal.

Kar Katcher

I picked this item up to enhance my video capturing while attending local car meets that I will attend post pandemic. I use the head band mount when I have to be hands free for shooting range sessions training local Police Officers in my region. This device allows me to be hands on while also being able to see what I’m capturing in real time

fell off the stroller while walking on a sidewalk and cracked screen

very disappointed with this clip. highly recommend to not use. i had it on the front of my stroller while walking around town and it seemingly fell off at random and cracked the screen. i doubt its waterproof now so i cannot record underwater while in florida or spain. luckily it was within a year of purchase so i am in process of getting it replaced, however i am now traveling through countries and is difficult to coordinate mailing and receiving. along with me not being able to use it for the time that this process is happening. the cracked screen is being resolved very well by gopro, however this happening in the first place makes me me not want to trust gopro accessories because it fell off and broke my camera so easily.

The mount that you never knew you needed.

It is amazing how useful this mount is. It is small and compact. You can clip it to a backpack strap. What surprised me the most though is how useful the magnet is. Surfaces for using the magnetic mount abound. Refrigerator... Check! Classroom Whiteboard... Check! Side of computer tower... Check! Barstool leg... Check! It is truly surprising how useful this mount is. I keep discovering new places to put it. Yes, it even sticks to the side of my car; however, you wouldn't want to drive around with it like that. My only criticism is the quick release base that is included. The base is threaded so that the bolt enters from the wrong direction if you are using a Hero 8 with the media mod. Other than that, this is a fantastic mount.

Good, simple clip-on mount; "easy" is a relative term

Pros: Small, lightweight design; easy for travel shots Swivel mount allows for wide range of positioning Rubber grip "teeth" allow for a sturdy grip on thicker surfaces (like a shelf) Can securely grip up to 3/4" thickness Strong magnet supports weight even with camera mounted horizontally Cons: Requires a lot of pressure to open up wide enough to fit on thicker surfaces Swivel mount can be difficult to adjust (and nearly impossible to line up shots live without unclipping) Overall Impression: This is a good, simple camera mount. I feel like it can be difficult to get a good enough grip on it to apply the pressure necessary to mount it to furniture, as it says in the description. The fact that I have to use both hands to mount it to my shelf is what prevents me from giving it 5 stars; I just need more leverage.

Versatile, but not strong

Has a lot of uses and camera angle range. It's a decent mount for instances that don't need a whole lot of rigidity, but the clip and magnet both aren't as strong as I'd like them to be. It tends to shift around a lot and sometimes fall if placed on anything that'll be moving around. I'd only recommend as a stationary mount or for more tame activities like hiking, boating, or maybe skiing, etc.. I'd suggest using a different mounting option if you need something solid

Managed to magnetically hold up my Volta + Hero 11 black

I saw some reviews here about the weak magnet, and would like to offer a different perspective. I was able to mount my volta + gopro 11 magnetically on a lamppost by positioning the magnetic portion of the clip towards the top. The magnet had weaker attraction with alloyed metals.. but i think that applies to any magnet too. Clip was very strong. I clipped it to my car door handle and drove slowly for some cool footage (20kph)

Needs a bit of improvement

I think the magnet should be at least twice as strong as it it and there should be more of an offset to the jaws so that it can go onto standard backpack straps a lot more flush than it does. The jaw offset might be best as a second offering, or better yet a pivot built into the mechanism. I'm no engineer though, so I 'll leave the how-to them. I just know it doesn't fit on any of my backpack straps in a very functional way.

Versatile, the accessory you need

I couldn't believe how much is use this great clip, on days out with the family my gopro stays clipped on my belt or pocket ready to be deployed to capture the action. The built in magnet is great for sticking it to street lamps and railings for getting everyone in. The fact it swivels means you always get the shot. I've got some great video and time lapses from just being clipped on my back pack strap and even my baseball cap peak. I have filmed many days out just with the camera on the clip, hand held, even on my kayak oar (with a floaty too) I've even clipped it on my laces on a roller coaster (at your own risk) The rubber teeth like grips are really great. I've had third party accessories and go pro official is leagues above, like over engineered, and no wouldn't consider anything else. The magnet won't hold on to the bonnet of a moving car at high speed, but does the job for lower impact activities.
