Great product, worth it, tons of compliments
True to size, vert warm, gets lots of compliments
Awesome jacket with plenty of pockets!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this jacket! The teal/purple gradient-like design I got is great, I got compliments on it. I went to Stowe, Vermont, riding in wind chills of -15°F at the peak, and stayed warm. My last jacket was a more snug fit, but I really like that this one is a bit looser. The left side of the jacket features an upper interior (large) pocket AND upper exterior (smaller) pocket. And then left and right sides both have normal pockets at the bottom, both of which can fit my big phone (S21 ultra) horizontally, so it doesn't dig into me at all when I bend over to strap in. At the base of the sleeves there are thumb-sleeves (or whatever you call those) so your hands can stay comfy/warm when walking around without gloves when needed. I personally don't recommend trying to use those with your gloves though, because for me it started to pull at the web of my hand between my thumb and index finger. The zipper does do a bit of a curve maneuver as you zip it up past your chest which is fine but I was just not aware of that until I put it on. If you don't zip it all the way up to your nose, the flappies from the collar that hang down can get a little annoying when walking around, but I didn't even really notice it when I was riding. You can pull the hood up over your helmet, but it really limited my visibility so I opted to ride with hood down. All in all, wonderful product. 686 stan for life.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ALMOST PERFECT Activity: Resort Size: L Height: 5.3-5.6 Weight: 140-170 lbs Fit True to size I’m 5’3”, 150lbs. I usually choose size L for extra sleeve length and room in the shoulders. This jacket is lightweight, warm, good-looking, and roomy enough for layers as well as a 1.5L hydration pack. Lots of functional pockets, inside and out, with outer zip-pulls large enough to operate wearing mitts or gloves. Cozy fleece-lined collar and helmet-compatible hood. Comfortable for skiing in temperatures ranging from +5C to -20C. Minus one star because the two-way front zipper is no longer a feature on this year’s Hydra.
Cozy jacket
I am so glad I bought this jacket. I really do love it. With the hood up over my helmet, and the jacket zipped over my chin and mouth, I am totally cozy, even in the snow. On a sunny day, I can get by with only a smart wool long-sleeved shirt. I like that unlike every other jacket, it is not too tight across my hips and bum. It also has lots of great pockets.
Four seasons and going strong!
This is an amazing jacket! I’m on season 4 with it, averaging 20+ days a season in all sorts of conditions in the Alps and western US. Water resistance is still great, but this year I sprayed the shoulders with Nixwax just for good measure - not sure it was necessary. I wash it once or twice a season, since I have the white and it starts looking dirty on the cuffs. Pockets are awesome and hold all the ski resort essentials, without superfluous pockets. Hood goes over helmet perfectly against crazy winds and blizzard conditions, and the vent helps me breathe while keeping powder out of my face when lucky enough to have that problem. I can fit comfortably a base layer, thin mid and a down vest when necessary. Since it’s lightly insulated, it’s nice to not have to layer up unless it’s very very cold. Only been hot on late spring days. I usually wear xs/small in clothes generally and like the small in this jacket for the right amount of roominess. Armpit vents are great for adjusting to different temps. Only issue I’m starting to have is zippers getting slightly stuck on occasion from so much use. I might get a new one in a different color for next season. Highly recommend!
BUY THE JACKET you literally will not regret it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOVE IT. If you’re considering the Hydra Jacket, my recommendation is to absolutely go for it. The insulation allows me to wear just my thermal long sleeve under it in most conditions. I love that all the pockets are so intuitive too. There’s even a phone warmer in the outer pocket so your phone doesn’t freeze while you’re jamming out on the mountain. The hood has already saved me in windy conditions fitting beautifully over my helmet, and the collar comes up to your face so perfectly I didn’t even need my extra fleece hood. Also very impressed with the waterproofing, it’s the closest you’ll get to GoreTex without paying the price for it. All-around super high quality jacket, and it isn’t at all bulky! Which makes storage a breeze. I bought the dusty mauve colour and I’m obsessed with how stylish it looks with my Outline Pants (which I could also go on and on about). Overall SUPER impressed with this purchase.
Perfect jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great waterproof jacket. On cold days def need extra layering tho. I love all the extra pockets and Kleenex holder. Fits over helmets. I use this jacket on rainy days too!
Got it for my fiancé
Got it for my fiancé for Xmas. She loves it. Warm and comfy with good pocket selection.
There's a reason this jacket is almost totally sold out!
This jacket is seriously awesome for lots of reasons! It's comfortable, has tons of pockets and extra space, is warm and looks good. I wasn't sure I would like the asymmetrical zipper & how far up the "face mask" area comes, but I found I am perfectly happy with both. Its nice having some extra neck/face coverage on those colder days. I like that the cut of the jacket isn't super curvy around the waist area like many women's jackets, as some of us are out there to actually ride & not just look cute, so there is plenty of range of motion here. Also room for 2-3 layers underneath including a lightweight packable down! I'd recommend this to anyone who is in the market for a new jacket. Oh & the blue looks even better in person. I'm 5'7, 130lbs & purchased a S.
Good jacket, fabric didn’t match the picture from the order
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this jacket in a ski / snowboard store , but a different colour. I usually wear Small but it was good I could try it so that I evaluate XS was what I needed . Very nice cut, but disappointed that it is not true to the advertised picture - base colour it should have been dark purple with black sleeves , the one I got is all black. The label is correct. I wanted purple to match my pants , I guess all black would have to do. This is why I am not giving it a 5 star
